WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING
HELD ON THE 18TH DAY OF JUNE, 1917, AT 4.30 P.M.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Waitomo
County Council joint loan with the Awakino County of
£10,000, 1916, authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
the completion and the formation of and the widening,
culverting, and metalling the Miroahua–Mangaotaki Road
from its junction with the Mairoa Road to its junction with
the Mahoenui–Kawhia Road, and also the Mahoenui–Kawhia
Road from the northern boundary of Puketiti No. 1 to the
southern corner of Section 16, Block VI, Maungamangero
Survey District, and also the Upper Mangaotaki Road from
its junction with the Mahoenui–Kawhia Road to the south-
east corner of Section 9, Block VI, Maungamangero Survey
District, and also the Kihikihi Road from its junction with
the Miroahua–Mangaotaki Road to the south-eastern corner
of Section 12, Block VII, Maungamangero Survey District,
and also for forming and culverting only the road passing
through Kinohaku East No. 4H 4 and 4H 5 from its junction
with the Miroahua–Mangaotaki Road to the eastern bound-
ary of Puketiti No. 5, and also for building a bridge over the
Mangaotaki River on the Miroahua–Mangaotaki Road, the
said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one penny and three-eighths of a penny in the
pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
capital value) of all rateable property in the Mangaotaki
Special-rating Area within the Waitomo County, such special
area being bounded as follows,—
Commencing at the south-western corner of Puketiti
No. 5; thence following the southern boundary of the said
section in an easterly direction to Hunts Road; thence along
Hunts Road in a northerly direction to the north-east corner
of the said section; thence along the northern boundary of
the said section in a westerly direction to the south-eastern
corner of Kinohaku East 4H No. 3; thence along the eastern
boundary of the said section and the eastern boundary of
Kinohaku East 4B Section 3; thence along the southern
boundary of Kinohaku East 4B Section 3, and through the
last-mentioned section to include 464 acres 2 roods 19 perches
of the said last-mentioned section in the area; thence along
the northern boundary of the said section Kinohaku East 4B
Section 3 to the south-east corner of Kinohaku East 4B 2A;
thence along the eastern boundary of the said last-mentioned
section, the eastern boundary of Kinohaku East 4B 2B, the
northern boundary of 4B 2B, then again to the northern
boundary of Kinohaku East 4B Section 3; thence along the
northern boundary of the said last-mentioned Section 3 to
the south-east corner of Kinohaku East 4D 2; thence along
the eastern and northern boundary of Kinohaku East 4D 2
and part of the eastern boundary of Kinohaku East 4D 4,
part of the southern, the eastern, and northern boundary of
Kinohaku East 4E to the north-east corner of Kinohaku
East 4G No. 2; thence along the northern boundary of
Kinohaku East 4G No. 2, the northern boundary of 4G No. 3,
to the north-eastern boundary of Section 5, Block XI, Maunga-
mangero Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary
of the said section to the Kihikihi Road; thence along the
Kihikihi Road in a south-westerly direction to the south-east
corner of Section 11, Block XI, Maungamangero Survey
District; thence along the eastern boundary of the said
section in a northerly direction to the north-eastern corner;
thence along the northern boundaries of the said last-
mentioned section and Sections 12, 13, 28, 27, and 26 to the
Mahoenui–Kawhia Road; thence along the Mahoenui–
Kawhia Road to the north-western corner of Section 3,
Block VI, Maungamangero Survey District, this being a
point on the boundary between Awakino and Waitomo
Counties; thence along the boundary between the two
counties in a southerly direction to the starting-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of October in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Waitomo was hereto affixed at
the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Waitomo
County Council, in the presence of—

tomo County Council at the meeting above mentioned.

WAITOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
WESTERN AREA NO. 2 SPECIAL-RATING DISTRICT.—RESO-
LUTION MAKING SPECIAL INTEREST RATE.—ADDITIONAL
LOAN OF £80.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Waitoa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a further loan of £80 (being ten per centum of
the original loan of £800), authorized to be raised by the
Waitoa Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, to
complete the construction of drainage-works in the Western
Area No. 2 Special-rating District of the said Waitoa
Drainage District, the Waitoa Drainage Board hereby makes
and levies a special interest rate on a graduated scale
according to the classification list of the lands within the
said Western Area No. 2 Special-rating District, of one-tenth
of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in
Class “A,” one-fifteenth of one penny in the pound on the
rateable value of all lands in Class “B,” and one-thirtieth
of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all
lands in Class “C,” all of which classes and the lands
therein, together with their rateable values as appearing on
the valuation roll of the district, are set out in the classifica-
tion list of the Western Area No. 2 Special-rating District.
And that such special rates shall be annual-recurring rates
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the first day of February and the first day of August in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.
Boundaries of the Special-rating District.
All that area commencing at the north-east corner of the
Whakahoro Special-rating District, and following along its
eastern boundary to the south-east corner of the said
Whakahoro Special-rating District, and continuing on in a
straight line parallel to the No. 7 Road in a southerly
direction across Sections 76/5/4 to the No. 3 subdivision
line of the Waitoa Estate; then along such line to the
No. 8 Road on its eastern side, which along in a southerly
direction to the south boundary-line of Lot 2 of the sub-
division of Section 67 of the Waitoa Estate subdivision; then
along such south boundary-line to the western
boundary-line of Lot 6 of the subdivision of Sections 64
and 65 of the Waitoa Estate subdivision; thence along
such western boundary-line in a southerly direction to the
south-west corner of the aforesaid Lot 6, then follow the
south boundary-line of Lot 6 in an easterly direction to the
centre-line of the No. 7 Road, which along in a northerly
direction to the Whakahoro Road, and along same in a
westerly direction to the north-east corner of the Whakahoro
Special-rating District, the point of commencement.
I, F. W. Walters, Chairman of the Waitoa Drainage
Board, do hereby certify that the above resolution was
passed at a meeting of the Waitoa Drainage Board, duly
constituted, held on Saturday, the twenty-third day of
June, 1917.
In testimony whereof the common seal of the Waitoa
Drainage Board is hereunto affixed, in the presence of—
