Altering Boundaries of Eltham and Stratford Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force: And whereas a resolution was passed by the Eltham County Council on the tenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day: And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Stratford County Council on the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the eighteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, praying for the alteration of the boundaries of such counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First and Second Schedules hereto: And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act as amended by the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, now being part of the County of Stratford, shall, as on and from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, be deemed to be added to and form part of the County of Eltham, and that the area described in the Second Schedule hereto, being now part of the County of Eltham, shall, as on and from the aforesaid date, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Stratford County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Eltham and Stratford respectively shall, as on and from the aforesaid date, be those set forth under their respective headings in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE ADDED TO ELTHAM COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, being Sections 11 and 12, Block VIII, Ngaiere Survey District, part of Subdivision 15, Pukengahu Block, lying between the present northern boundary of Eltham County and the northern part of the said Subdivision 15 of 23 acres 1 rood 8 perches, purchased by J. Christoffel, and the parts of Sections 35 and 36, Block XI, Ngaiere Survey District, lying north of the present boundary between Stratford and Eltham Counties.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE ADDED TO STRATFORD COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, being the part of Subdivision 16, Pukengahu Block, lying south of the present boundary between Stratford and Eltham Counties, the parts of Subdivisions 11 and 12, Pukengahu Block, lying south of the present boundary between Stratford and Eltham Counties, and the parts of Sections 32, 33, 34, and 76, Block XI, Ngaiere Survey District, lying south of the present boundary between Stratford and Eltham Counties and the two roads intersecting the said area.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

STRATFORD COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north generally by Taranaki County from the summit of Mount Egmont to the Waitotara River; thence by Clifton
