Reserve of Officers.
Captain Alfred Francis Tunks, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Reserve of Officers with his original rank and seniority—viz., Captain, as from 22nd November, 1912 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 1, of 9th January, 1913); to date from 29th June, 1917.

5TH MOUNTED RIFLES (OTAGO HUSSARS).
Captain James Jenkins, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Major, as from 31st July, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 128, of 11th November, 1915); to date from 30th June, 1917.

8TH (SOUTH CANTERBURY) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain John Studholme Barker to be Major, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 31st May, 1917.
Lieutenant George Carlisle Dailey to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 31st May, 1917.

10TH (NELSON) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant George Raymond Blackett to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 25th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY (“D” BATTERY).
Lieutenant Charles Newey Mitchell, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 8th February, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 69, of 22nd June, 1916); to date from 16th December, 1916. And retains the temporary rank of Captain whilst acting as Adjutant to the Wellington Field Artillery Brigade; dated 17th November, 1916.

NEW ZEALAND GARRISON ARTILLERY.
Auckland G.A. Division.
Captain Douglas Russell Kirker, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Captain, as from 15th January, 1913 (vide New Zealand Gazette of the 27th December, 1912); to date from 30th June, 1917.

Wellington G.A. Division.
Lieutenant Joseph Abel, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from the 26th December, 1914 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 30, of 25th February, 1915); to date from 30th June, 1917.
Lieutenant William John Mitchell (No. 2 Company) is transferred to the 1st (Canterbury) Regiment, Coast Defence Detachment. Dated 1st June, 1917.
Lieutenant Alfred Henry William Evenden (No. 4 Company) to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 31st May, 1917.

Coast Defence Detachment.
Lieutenant Henry Gillies Livingstone to be Captain. Dated 31st May, 1917.
Lieutenant William John Mitchell, from the N.Z. Garrison Artillery (No. 2 Company), to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st June, 1917.

The undermentioned Captains to be Majors, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 31st May, 1917:—

11TH REGIMENT (TARANAKI RIFLES).
Lieutenant (Honorary Captain) Thomas John Linton Buxton relinquishes the honorary rank of Captain on ceasing his duties as a Ship’s Quartermaster on H.M.N.Z. Transports. Dated 9th June, 1917.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) William Roberts Johns is transferred to the New Zealand Dental Corps. Dated 23rd April, 1917.

13TH (NORTH CANTERBURY AND WESTLAND) REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant Lionel Henry Davison to be Lieutenant. Dated 31st May, 1917.

16TH (WAIKATO) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Reginald Milbrowe Dunn, from the Unattached List (b), to be Lieutenant. Dated 19th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) resign their appointments:—
William Gray Young. Dated 25th May, 1917.
Charles James Lockwood. Dated 25th May, 1917.
Walter Naismith. Dated 29th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
The undermentioned are granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst holding the appointment of members of a Special District Medical Board. Dated 7th June, 1917:—

Captain James Alexander Macdonell, M.D., M.S., N.Z.
Captain Joseph Livingstone Frazer-Hurst, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Captain, as from the 14th September, 1914 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 114, of 29th October, 1914); dated 3rd June, 1917. And is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst in charge of the Military Ward, Whangarei Hospital; to date from 3rd June, 1917.
Arthur Herbert Hallen, M.B., M.S., M.D., to be temporary Captain whilst doing duty in the N.Z. Expeditionary Force Training Camps. Dated 30th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.
The notification in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of 25th January, 1917, relating to Lieutenant Robert Dickson Elliott: For the word “Lieutenant.” read “Captain.”

The undermentioned to be Lieutenants:—
Roy Edward Bridgman. Dated 20th May, 1917.
Gordon Mawley Dodgshun. Dated 21st May, 1917.

The Reverend Clive Mortimer Jones, Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, is posted for duty with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 4th May, 1917.
The Reverend Martin Joseph O’Doherty, Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, resigns his commission. Dated 24th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND ARMY NURSING SERVICE.
The undermentioned resign their appointments:—
Sister Camilla Steele. Dated 28th May, 1917.
Sister Dora E. Giffney. Dated 28th May, 1917.
Staff Nurse Violet Petersen. Dated 18th May, 1917.

Lieutenant George Francis McGrath is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst commanding Nos. 2, 6, and 12 Companies, Wanganui College Senior Cadets. Dated 29th May, 1917.
Captain Allan Henry Wright, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from the 5th May, 1913 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 121, of the 12th November, 1914); to date from 2nd July, 1914.
Lieutenant Reginald Milbrowe Dunn is transferred to the 16th (Waikato) Regiment. Dated 19th May, 1917.
The notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 64, of 1st June, 1916, relating to 2nd Lieutenant William Richard Mulgan is cancelled.
