And whereas the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a road :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road described in the Schedule hereto.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the person mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be a member of the Assessment Court for the special district set opposite his name.

Closing Old Kaikora North Cemetery, Otane Town District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of August, 1916.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it appears to the Governor that burials in the old Kaikora North Cemetery, in the Otane Town District, which said cemetery is described in the Schedule hereto, should be wholly discontinued : And whereas a sufficient cemetery not within the limits of any borough or town district has been provided, and has been prepared for the interment of the dead, as required by the Cemeteries Act, 1908 :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand, and in pursuance of the authorities vested in him by the said Cemeteries Act, 1908, doth hereby order and direct that, from and after the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the old Kaikora North Cemetery, in the Otane Town District, described in the aforesaid Schedule, shall be closed, and burials therein discontinued ; and, further, that the said cemetery shall, from and after the said first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, be vested in the Otane Town Board, under the provisions and for the purposes of the seventy-eighth section of the said Cemeteries Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
OLD KAIKORA NORTH CEMETERY.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being the old Kaikora North Cemetery, part of Section 176, Town of Otane, bounded towards the north-west by the Wellington-Napier Railway Reserve ; towards the north-east by Knorp Street ; towards the south-east by a right line through the said Section 176 parallel to and 44 ft. distant from its north-western boundary ; and towards the south-west by Section 20, part of Block 37.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor in Council :
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor in Council to enable the Wellington City Council and the New Brighton Borough Council to borrow moneys
