said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under occupation with right of purchase license as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being Section 29 (formerly portion of Section 14), Block V, Woodland Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the eastern corner of the road forming the boundary between Sections 14 and 11, opposite road traverse peg 26; thence by said road 335° 52', 329·9 links, 21° 55', 254·2 links, 95° 38', 102·6 links, 144° 22', 208·9 links, 129° 27', 269·2 links; thence by Section 14, 195° 26', 173·3 links, 266° 46', 346·7 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/62, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Additional Land at Nelson taken for the Purposes of the Nelson-Greymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Nelson-Greymouth Railway to take further land at Nelson, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 13 acres 2 roods. Being Section 1178, part Nelson Haven (S.O. 16/9 Ry.), situated in City of Nelson.

In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 23831, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged green.

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:

And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work, and not required for that purpose, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was taken for the purposes of roads: And whereas such roads have been closed, and it is desirable to declare the land contained therein to be Crown land:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be Crown land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that such land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
