Altering Boundaries of Whangaroa and Hokianga Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Whangaroa County Council on the tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and sealed with the seal of the Council of the said county: And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Hokianga County Council on the twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and sealed with the seal of the said county, praying for the inclusion in the Whangaroa County of that part of the Hokianga County described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto; And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Hokianga County, shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Whangaroa County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Hokianga and Whangaroa respectively shall as from the aforesaid date be those set forth under their respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA TO BE ADDED TO WHANGAROA COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of Pupuke Parish from the Wainui Stream to the Mangakino Stream; thence along the Mangakino and Whakateterekia Streams to the road at the southernmost corner of Section 58, Pupuke Parish, across the road, along the western boundaries of Sections 58 and 57, and across a road to the boundary between Kauri-Putete Block and forest reserve; thence along that boundary to the southernmost corner of the said Kauri-Putete Block, along the south-western, western, and northern boundaries of that block to the Wainui Stream, and along that stream to the north-eastern boundary of the Pupuke Parish, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
HOKIANGA COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north by the Herekino River from the sea to the Uwhiroa Stream; thence by a right line to Raetea Trig. Station, and by the original boundary between the Mongonui and Hokianga Counties through a forest reserve to Puketukituki at the westernmost corner of Mangamuka West Block; thence by the north-western and northern boundaries of that block, the north-western boundaries of Mangamuka East H, Mangamuka East G, and Mangamuka East No. 3 Blocks, by the western and north-western boundaries of Section 1 and the northern boundary of Section 1A, Block VII, Maungataniwha Survey District, to the north-western corner of Kauri-Putete Block; thence by that block to and across the road forming the northern boundary of Section 57, Pupuke Parish, by that section and Section 58 to the Whakateterekia Stream, by that stream to its confluence with the Mangakino Stream, and by that stream and the south-eastern boundary of the Pupuke Parish to the southernmost corner of Section 17, Matawherohia Parish, by that section to a point opposite the western boundary of a forest reserve (2,112 acres); thence towards the east generally across a road, and by the said forest reserve and its western boundary-line produced to the middle of the Waipapa River; thence by a line along the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block V, Omapere Survey District; thence by a right line to and by the said north-eastern boundary to Section 40, Block V aforesaid, by that section, across a road, by Sections 41 and 62, across a road, by Sections 63, 21, and 57 of the said Block V to the north-western corner of Section 58, Block IX, by that section and Section 61, across a road, and by Section 60, Block IX aforesaid, and the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section produced to the middle of the Utakura River; thence by a line along the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waihoanga Stream, by a line along the middle of that stream to its southernmost source; thence by a right line to the source of the Rakauwahi Stream, and a line along the middle of that stream to a point opposite the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block XIV, Omapere Survey District; thence by a right line to and by the eastern boundary of that section and the eastern boundaries of Punakitere No. 2 and No. 2A Blocks to the Punakitere River; thence by that river to the Mangakahia-Kaikohe Road, and by that road to a point where it is intersected by a right line from Trig. Station No. 18 on Tarai-o-Rahiri to Trig. Station No. 43 on Tutamoe; thence towards the south-east by the said right line to Trig. Station No. 43 on Tutamoe; thence towards the south by a right line through Trig. Station No. 119 on Maunganui Bluff to the sea; and thence towards the south-west generally by the sea to the Herekino River, the place of commencement.
WHANGAROA COUNTY.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north and north-east generally by the sea from a point in line with the western boundary of Section 73, Block III, Mangonui Survey District, to the mouth of the Takou River; thence towards the south-east generally by that river to the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Kaeo Survey District; thence by Old Land Claims 7 and 8 to the eastern boundary of Old Land Claim 803, by the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Old Land Claim 803 and across a road to Section 1, Block XI, Kaeo Survey District; thence by Sections 1 and 2, Block XI aforesaid, Old Land Claim 28, Mokau Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks, and part of the original southern boundary of Whangaroa County as described in the Counties Act, 1886, through a State forest reserve in Blocks X and XI, Kaeo Survey District, to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 15, Block X aforesaid; thence by the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 15, 16, and 17, Matawherohia Parish, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the south-west by the Hokianga County hereinbefore described; and towards the north-west by the Mongonui County as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th November, 1913, page 3527, to the sea, the place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-second day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

to be a member of the Board of Trustees for Public Recreation.
