SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Falkirk Street, in the City of Dunedin, Otago Land District, commencing opposite the boundary between Allotments 31 and 32, Township of Murrayville, Block I, Upper Kaikorai District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction to the boundary of the footpath adjoining the Township of Clifton. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40018, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Portions of Graham and Falkirk Streets and another Street, in the City of Dunedin, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this ninth day of August, 1916.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council :
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose :
And whereas the Dunedin City Council, the local authority having control of the streets described in the Schedule hereto, did, on the fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, pass the following resolution — viz., “That the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to those streets situated within Block I, Upper Kaikorai District, City of Dunedin, shown by red colour on the plan hereunto annexed” :
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved in so far as it refers to the streets described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the condition hereinafter mentioned :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on either side of the said streets within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said streets.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Graham Street, in the City of Dunedin, Otago Land District, adjoining Allotments 4, 5, and 6 of Section 12, Block I, Upper Kaikorai District.
Also all that portion of Falkirk Street, in the said city and land district, commencing at the south-western corner of Allotment 13 of Section 12, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction, adjoining the said Allotment 13, and Allotments 24, 25, 26, 28, and part 27 of Section 13, Block I, Upper Kaikorai District, and terminating at a point opposite the boundary between Allotments 31 and 32, Township of Murrayville.
Also all that portion of street, in the said city and land district, commencing at its junction with Falkirk Street, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction adjoining Allotments 13 to 23 of Section 12, Block I, Upper Kaikorai District, and terminating at the Town Belt.
As the said streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40018, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

License authorizing the Wellington City Council to erect Electric Lines from the Tramway Trolley-wire and Rail in Hopper Street, Wellington, to the adjoining Premises of the Welbilt Heel Company.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirty-first day of July, 1916.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that no person shall lay, construct, put up, place, or use any electric line except under the authority of a license issued to him by the Governor in Council under that Act :
And whereas the Wellington City Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) desires to erect electric lines from the tramway trolley-wire and rail in Hopper Street, Wellington, to the adjoining premises of the Welbilt Heel Company, situated on Section 10, Town Acre 74, D.P. 149, City of Wellington (hereinafter referred to as “the said electric lines”), and it is expedient accordingly to issue a license in respect thereof under the said section :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, hereby authorize the said licensee to erect and maintain the said electric lines for the purpose of supplying power to motors having an aggregate capacity of fifteen horse-power, such electric lines and the position of the premises being indicated by black and broken black lines on the plan marked P.W.D. 40374, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.
SCHEDULE.
CONDITIONS.
- In this license the following words and phrases shall have the meanings hereby attached to them respectively:—
“Earthed” means connected to the general mass of earth in such a manner as to ensure at all times an immediate and safe discharge to earth of electric energy.
“Electric line” means any wire, wires, conductor, or other means used for conveying, transmitting, or distributing electricity for power, lighting, or heating purposes; and includes any instrument, insulator, casing, tubing, pipe-covering, or post enclosing or supporting an electric line, or anything connected therewith.
“Inspecting Engineer” means and includes any Inspecting Engineer appointed by the Minister to inspect the works to be constructed or maintained by virtue of electric-line licenses issued under the Public Works Act, 1908, and any or all of its amendments, or under any one or more of such amendments only, or any Act or Acts passed in amendment thereof or substitution therefor.
“Minister” means Minister of Public Works.
“Telegraph” includes telephone.
“Telegraph line” has the same meaning as “electric line” in the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and also includes all telegraph, telephone, and electric signaling wires belonging to the Government Railways Department.

The conductors shall not be less than 7/20 S.W.G. hard-drawn copper wires, firmly attached to porcelain insulators, and erected on supports placed not more than 150 ft. apart. The positive conductor shall be covered throughout, and the covering may consist of vulcanized indiarubber or of triple braiding thoroughly impregnated with weatherproof compound. The negative conductor may be bare.

The conductors shall be carried on substantial and durable supports, which shall be designed to have a factor of safety of four in the case of steel, iron, or ferro-concrete, and five in the case of wood, calculated upon the ultimate strength of the material, assuming the wind-pressure to be 20 lb. per square foot upon a plane surface, and 12 lb. per square foot upon a diametral plane upon a cylindrical surface.

The conductors shall not in any part thereof be at a less height than 18 ft. from the surface of the ground.

A single-pole fuse cut-out shall be inserted in the positive conductor, and arranged to operate with an overload of 100
