Consenting to stopping Portions of Road in Block XIV,
Reefton Survey District, Inangahua County.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this ninth day of
August, 1916.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a)
of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a
local authority shall not declare any county road or district
road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor,
by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained :

And whereas the Inangahua County Council has applied
for such consent in respect of the portions of road described
in the Schedule hereto :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-
in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Inangahua County
Council stopping the portions of road described in the
Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road permitted to be
stopped —
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
0 2 27·1 Sections 1 and 2.
2 1 10·5 Section 1; and Secs. 136 and 251, Square 131.

Situated in Block XIV, Reefton Survey District (Nelson
R.D.).

In the Nelson Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36683,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Horndon.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirty-first
day of July, 1916.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been duly set apart as a reserve for municipal
purposes, being a purpose within Class I of the Public Reserves
and Domains Act, 1908 :

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appro-
priated for a site for a public hall, being a purpose within the
said Class I :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him
by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the said land shall, from
and after the date hereof, be appropriated for a site for a
public hall, under Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Reserve No. 3608
(formerly Section 5), Block IV, Town of Horndon. Bounded
towards the north by the Railway Terrace South, 100 links ;
thence towards the east by Russell Street, 250 links ; thence
towards the south by Section No. 6 of Block IV, Town of
Horndon, 100 links ; and thence towards the west by Section
No. 4 of the said Block IV, 250 links : be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block X, Gordon Survey
District, to be a Government Road.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this ninth day of
August, 1916.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him
by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers
in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the
portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on
and after the date of this Order in Council, become a
Government road.

SCHEDULE.

Situated in Block X, Gordon Survey District (Nelson

Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.

Portion of the South-eastern Side of Falkirk Street, in the
City of Dunedin, exempted from the Provisions of Section
117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition
as to the Building-line.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this ninth day of
August, 1916.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it
is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply
in any case where the local authority having control of a
road or street by resolution declares that the provisions
thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or
any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved
by the Governor in Council :

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b)
of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works
Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval may
be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Go-
vernor in Council thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one
or both sides of the road or street :

And whereas the Dunedin City Council, the local authority
having control of the portion of street described in the
Schedule hereto, hereinafter referred to as the said portion of
street, did, on the fifth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen, pass the following resolution—viz.,
"That the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves
that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen
of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to those
streets situated within Block I, Upper Kaikorai District,
City of Dunedin, shown by red colour on the plan hereunto
annexed" :

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution
should be approved in so far as it refers to the south-eastern
side of the said portion of street, subject to the condition
hereinafter mentioned :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said
resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned, subject to
the condition that no building or part of a building shall be
erected at any time on the south-eastern side of the said
portion of street within a distance of thirty-three feet of the
centre-line of the said portion of street.
