THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
IN pursuance of the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, the body corporate called the Education Board of the District of Wanganui hereby gives notice that it intends to acquire for the purposes of a public-school site the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and do all works and things incidental thereto; and for the purpose and object of so doing the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required and will require to be taken by the said Board under the provisions of the above Act: And that a survey has been made and a plan prepared, and signed by Thomas Ward, of Palmers-ton North, Licensed Surveyor, (red), showing such land together with the names of the owners and occupiers thereof as far as they can be ascertained: And that a copy of such plan has been deposited in the premises of Messieurs G. H. Bennett & Co., the Square, Palmerston North, the place directed by the said Board, and is there open for inspection: And that all persons affected are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary, Education Board, Wanganui.

In the matter of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and its amendments; and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairoa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of an isolation ward; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the Wairoa County Council situate in Queen Street, Wairoa, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the Wairoa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board at the County Council Chambers, Wairoa.

APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken : 4 acres 2 roods 25·3 perches.
Being portion of Suburban Section 53, Class 2, being Lot 1 thereof.
Situate in the Borough of Wairoa.

EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL ORDER MADE AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY, THE 10TH DAY OF JUNE, 1916, AND CONFIRMED AT A SUBSEQUENT MEETING HELD ON THE 8TH DAY OF JULY, 1916.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Pori Road Special-rating Area, in Eketauna County, hereinafter described, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said special-rating area the capital values of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said county are collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Eketauna County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—
For the purpose of metalling Pori Road, the Eketauna County Council hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £500 at 4½ per centum per annum for a period of 36½ years, and declares that the cost of raising the said loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the money so raised.

Part Section 13, Block I, part 6 and Sections 7, 8, Block II, Sections 1, 2, 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 21, Block V, part Section 1 and Sections 2, 5, Block VI, Puketoi S.D.

In the matter of the NORTH OTAGO TIMES COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Oamaru on the 17th day of June, 1916, the following special resolution was passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company held at Oamaru on the 4th day of July, 1916, the said resolution was duly confirmed, viz. :—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. THOMAS PRYOR, of Oamaru, Company Manager, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up; and that the remuneration of such Liquidator for his services in the winding-up be fixed at a sum equal to five per centum upon the assets of the company recovered in the winding-up during the period of his office as Liquidator.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the situation or locality of the office or place of business in New Zealand where legal process of any kind may be served on the RIMU OPTIONS (LIMITED) (hereinafter called the said company), and where notice of any kind may be addressed or delivered to the said company, has been changed from the Railway Hotel, Weld Street, Hokitika, in the Provincial District of Westland, to the office of Henry Leslie Michel, Wharf Street, Hokitika aforesaid.
