AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM HUTT COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN UPPER HUTT TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being part of Section 98B in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by the present boundary of the Upper Hutt Town District, towards the south-east by Lot 1 of Section 98B aforesaid and the Wellington-Wairarapa Railway line, and towards the south-west by Section 99.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of a Road in Block X, Mapara Survey District, Taranaki Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 14 of the Land Act, 1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 3rd day of May, 1916, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 26th day of May, 1915.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken for a road: 2 roods 12·6 perches.

Portion of Section 4, Block X, Mapara Survey District.

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/301, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of Roads in Blocks VIII and XV, Maruia Survey District, Nelson Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 14 of the Land Act, 1908, that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were on the 16th day of June, 1916, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 21st day of September, 1915.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Hairdressers’, Tobacconists’, and Hairdressers and Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of Masterton, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the (1) hairdressers’, (2) tobacconists’, and (3) hairdressers and tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Masterton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, 8 p.m.; Tuesday, 6 p.m.; Wednesday, 8 p.m.; Friday, 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 p.m.; with the following exceptions—(1) the eve of any day generally observed as a public holiday in the Borough of Masterton, when the hour of closing shall be 8 p.m.; (2) Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve; (3) the eve of any day generally observed as a public holiday in the Borough of Masterton that falls on a Saturday:

And whereas the Masterton Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades mentioned within the Borough of Masterton:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 24th day of July, 1916, all such shops in the Borough of Masterton shall be closed as follows: Mondays, 8 p.m.; Tuesdays, 6 p.m.; Wednesdays, 8 p.m.; Fridays, 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 p.m.; with the following exceptions—(1) the eve of any day generally observed as a public holiday in the Borough of Masterton, when the hour of closing shall be 8 p.m., except when such holiday falls on a Saturday, in which case no hour need be observed; (2) Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The hours so fixed are pursuant to subsection (4) of the above-mentioned section, to be observed subject to the closing at not later than 1 p.m. for the half-holiday on the statutory closing-day.

The notice gazetted on the 26th January, 1911, is hereby cancelled.

Varied Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Butchers’ Shops in the City of Wellington, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the butchers’ shops in the City of Wellington, has been forwarded to me, desiring that when a holiday shall be observed on a Saturday the closing-time for butchers’ shops shall be 7 p.m. on the Friday preceding such holiday:

And whereas the Wellington City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the butchers’ shops within the City of Wellington:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 24th day of July, 1916, all butchers’ shops in the City of Wellington shall be closed at 7 p.m. on the Friday preceding any Saturday that is generally observed as a holiday in the City of Wellington.

The notice gazetted on the 27th April, 1911, is hereby varied accordingly.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks I, Piopiotea, and I, Hunua Survey Districts, for Road Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks I, Piopiotea, and I, Hunua Survey Districts; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Works Office at Taumarunui, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

In the Auckland and Wellington Land Districts; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40475, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured pink.
