Special Order made by the Christchurch City Council abolishing Wards.

THE following special order, made by the Christchurch City Council, is published for general information.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Elections (Proportional Representation) Act, 1914, and its amendments.

It is hereby publicly notified that the following resolution was adopted at a special meeting of the Christchurch City Council held in the City Council Chamber, situate in Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 9 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 31st day of January, 1916:—

That, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Local Elections (Proportional Representation) Amendment Act, 1915, the Christchurch City Council hereby, by special order, adopts the provisions of the Local Elections (Proportional Representation) Act, 1914, and resolves that the said special order shall take effect as from Monday, the 9th day of April, 1917.

And it is hereby further publicly notified that the foregoing resolution will be submitted to an ordinary meeting of the Christchurch City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, situate in Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 7.30 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 28th day of February, 1916, for confirmation as a special order.

Special Order made by the Franklin County Council merging Opaheke Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Franklin County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Copy of Special Order made merging the Opaheke Road District in the County of Franklin.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 31 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Franklin County Council, on the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Opaheke Road District, resolves by way of special order that the said road district be merged in the County of Franklin, and the Board thereof abolished.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Franklin was hereunto affixed this 6th day of July, 1916, in the presence of—

I, Joseph Flanagan, Chairman of the Franklin County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the said Council held on Thursday, the 8th day of June, 1916, publicly notified as required by section 97 (c) of the Counties Act, 1908, and duly confirmed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Council held this 6th day of July, 1916.

Result of Election of a Member of the Auckland Fire Board by the Fire-insurance Companies.

Notice respecting Proposed Alterations of Boundaries, Upper Hutt Town District.

IT is hereby notified that petitions have been presented to His Excellency the Governor, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying respectively that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Hutt County and included in the Upper Hutt Town District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
