NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 326 of the Land Act, 1908, that the undermentioned land will be disposed of under the provisions of the said Act on Wednesday, 23rd August, 1916.

NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with section 326 of the Land Act, 1908, that the township reserve in Block XVI, Waoku Survey District, containing 145 acres 2 roods 14 perches, will be disposed of under the provisions of the said Act on or after Thursday, the 21st day of September, 1916.

Opening Settlement Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Wellington, 23rd June, 1916.
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 21 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, that the undermentioned land is open for selection on renewable lease; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 26th July, 1916.
The ballot will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Thursday, the 27th July, 1916, at 2.30 o’clock p.m.
Preference will be given to soldiers (either discharged or on active service) and to landless applicants who have children dependent on them or who have within the preceding two years applied for land at least twice unsuccessfully.
The application of any single man of military age may be refused by the Land Board, unless he can produce evidence of rejection from service by the military authorities.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—MAKARA COUNTY.—BELMONT SURVEY DISTRICT.—PAPARANGI SETTLEMENT.
First-class Land.
SECTION 21, Block XII: Area, 1 acre 0 roods 37 perches; capital value, £185; half-yearly rental, £4 3s. 3d.
Weighted with £275, valuation for improvements.
Situated near the north boundary of Johnsonville Township, the access being from Johnsonville Railway-station, which is about thirty-five chains distant by a metalled dray-road. Easy sloping land in grass, with good building-site. Soil is of a light nature, on clay formation. Elevation about 400 ft. above sea-level.
The improvements, which must be paid for in cash by the selector, comprise about eleven chains of fencing, six-roomed house with verandah, double brick chimney, &c., wash-house and copper, dairy, excavation, stable, and sheds, the whole valued at £275.

Village-homestead Allotments in Wellington Land District open for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Wellington, 24th June, 1916.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned village-homestead allotments are open for selection on renewable lease under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908; and applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 30th August, 1916.
The ballot, if required, will be held on Thursday, the 31st August, 1916, at 2.30 p.m., at this office.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—MATAROA VILLAGE SETTLEMENT.
SECTION 30: Area, 3 roods; capital value, £25; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £47 16s., valuation for improvements.
This section is situated in the Mataroa Village Settlement, the access being from the Mataroa Railway-station, which is about half a mile distant by formed road. Flat land; soil of good quality, on papa formation. The improvements comprise the whole area in grass, 7 chains of fencing, and a three-roomed house with lean-to.
Section 31: Area, 1 acre; capital value, £25; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £46, valuation for improvements.
Flat land, cleared and in grass. Access from Mataroa by formed dray-road. The soil is of good quality, heavy loam, on papa formation. The elevation is about 1,700 ft. above sea-level. The general quality of the section is good. The improvements comprise clearing and grassing 1 acre, 7½ chains fencing, dwellinghouse (five rooms, 34 ft. by 34 ft.), built of sawn timber, roofed with iron, iron chimney); also a shed, 16 ft. by 12 ft. (sawn timber, roofed with ruberoid, not floored). The successful applicant will also be required to pay balance of premium for fire insurance on house, which will be adjusted at time of selection.
