    Description.—A white conical buoy, numbered “2.”

CHINA, EAST COAST.
KYAU-CHAU BAY APPROACH.—BELL-BuoYS ESTABLISHED.
(a.) Position.—At a distance of 3·4 miles, 356° (north mag.), from Tai-kung-tau Lighthouse, in the position of the conical buoy which is to be expunged from the charts. Tai-kung-tau Lighthouse, Lat. 35° 57½′ N., long. 120° 29¼′ E.
Description.—A red truncated conical bell-buoy.
(b.) Position.—At a distance of 7 miles, 294° (N. 62° W. mag.), from the above-mentioned lighthouse.
Description.—A red truncated conical bell-buoy.
Variation.—4° W.
Charts affected.—No. 857, Kyau-chau Bay ; No. 1255, Kyau-chau Bay to Lai-chau Bay.

YANGTZE RIVER.—WOOSUNG ANCHORAGE.—QUARANTINE BEACON MOVED.
The quarantine beacon on Tsungpao-sha (Bush Island) has been moved south-east ward and re-established 3·66 miles 52° 30′ from Woosung Lighthouse.
Approximate position of Woosung Lighthouse, latitude 31° 23′ 18″ N., longitude 121° 30′ 3″ E.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.
FIJI ISLANDS.—OVALAU ISLAND.—LEVUKA HARBOUR.—LIGHT ESTABLISHED.
Information has been received that on 1st May, 1916, an unwatched occulting white light every 3 seconds—thus, light 2 seconds, eclipsed 1 second—visible 6 miles, would be established on the southern side of Natumbari or South Pass, Levuka Harbour entrance.
The light is exhibited 26 ft. above high water, from a concrete tower on piles, the whole painted white, located about 100 yards from the eastern edge of the southern reef.
Approx. position : Lat. 17° 41′ S., long. 178° 51′ E.

QUEENSLAND.
WIDE BAY BAR.
Notice is hereby given that, owing to the recent heavy weather experienced, the North Bank has extended south into the line of the Outer Bar beacons.
When entering it is now necessary to open the Outer Bar beacons once their own width to the southward when nearing the North Bank, and keep them so until well past the North Spit, then bring them into line to pass the South Spit. By following these directions 16 ft. O.L.W.S. will be obtained.

OUTER FREEMAN CHANNEL, MORETON BAY.
The Outer Freeman Channel is now marked by buoys for the use of vessels during the hours of daylight. The available depth is 22 ft. L.W.S.
A plan of the channel may be seen at the Port Office.
Direction for Use.—Vessels from the south intending to enter by the Outer Freeman Channel will, after passing one mile off Cape Moreton Lighthouse, steer N. 73° W. as usual until North Point is abeam ; then haul round to W ½° S., and continue this course until the Yellow Patch lightkeeper’s cottage is in line with Cape Moreton Lighthouse ; keep them in line (steering N. 74° W.) until Comboyuro Lighthouse bears south, when the entrance buoy (black with top mark) will be abeam on the port hand distant 9 cables ; steer for and pass it, leaving it close on the port hand; then steer S. ¾° W. through the channel making due allowance for the strong set of tide, passing two black buoys on the port hand and two red buoys and the junction buoy on the starboard hand, and then proceed past Comboyuro Point as directed for North Channel.

VICTORIA.
GIPPSLAND LAKES ENTRANCE.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that owing to structural alterations of the Eastern Pier, Gippsland Lakes Entrance, the light shown to indicate the navigable state of the entrance will be moved inwards about 130 ft., and will remain there until the new light can be erected on Eastern Pier end.

Mining Privileges to be struck off the Register.—Notice under Section 10, Subsection (3), of the Mining Amendment Act, 1914.

NOTICE is hereby given that at the expiration of three months from this date the mining privileges set out in the Schedule hereto will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be struck off the Register.
