Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Duntroon Domain.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, 1916.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Duntroon Domain:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twenty-third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

MALCOLM FRANCIS,
ROBERT HAMILTON,
ALEXANDER FYFE, and
JOHN SUTHERLAND

to be the Duntroon Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Library, Duntroon, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
DUNTROON DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 80 acres, more or less, being Section No. 23, Block IV, Maruwenua Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-line, 5600 links; towards the east by Section No. 14 of same block, 670 links; towards the south by Sections Nos. 13, 1, and 22 of same block, 4814 links; towards the west by Sections Nos. 6 and 16 of same block, 2885 links; and intersected by a road-line 100 links wide: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1026, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Duty on certain Tobacco imported into the Cook Islands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, 1916.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and two of the Customs Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time by Order in Council modify the tariff in its application to goods imported into the Cook Islands, but so that such modification shall not have the effect of imposing higher duties than those imposed by the tariff:

And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, the tariff was modified in its application to certain tobacco imported into the Cook Islands:

And whereas it is expedient to amend the modification of the tariff contained in the said Order in Council of the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section three hundred and two of the Customs Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and doth hereby modify the tariff in its application to goods imported into the Cook Islands aforesaid by declaring and directing as follows:—

  1. That there shall be payable on all black twist tobacco, of which the genuine invoice value at the time of importation is proved to the satisfaction of the Collector of Customs not to exceed one shilling and ninepence per pound, the following duties, that is to say,—

(a.) When imported into or entered for home consumption in the Cook Islands (exclusive of the Island of Niue), a duty of one shilling per pound;

(b.) When imported into or entered for home consumption in the Island of Niue (being one of the Cook Islands), a duty of two shillings per pound:

Provided that a further duty of one shilling per pound shall be paid on the landing in the Island of Niue of any tobacco removed from other parts of the Cook Islands which has been admitted to entry at a duty of one shilling per pound.

  1. That this Order shall have effect on and after the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Constitution of a Drainage Area under the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, 1916.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS section two of the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, enacts that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, declare any area of land described in the Order to be a drainage area to which the said Act applies: And whereas it is deemed expedient to declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a drainage area within the meaning of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section two of the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a drainage area to which the said Act shall apply, and to be called by the name of the “Waihi Drainage Area.”

SCHEDULE.
WAIHI DRAINAGE AREA.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District situate in Block I, Otutara Survey District, Blocks IV, VII, and VIII, Maketu Survey District, and I, II, III, V, and XIII, Waihi South Survey District, in the Tauranga County, bounded towards the north-east by the Bay of Plenty from the northernmost point of Pukehina A Section 1 Block to the south-east corner of Pukehina M 1 Block; towards the east generally by Pukehina M 4 Block to the road intersecting the last-mentioned block, across the said road, by the continuation of said road intersecting Pukehina M 4, L No. 1b, L No. 1c, L 2, and L No. 1d Blocks, and by the continuation of the said road to Run No. 6; thence again towards the south-east by Section 3 of Run No. 6 aforesaid to the Pongakawa River; thence by that river to the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Block V, Waihi South Survey District; thence towards the south by Section 9 of said block; thence towards the west by western boundaries of Sections 10, 11, 12, and 13 of Block V aforesaid; thence again towards the south by the crossing of a public road, and by the southern boundaries of Sections 9, 8, and 6 of Block II, Waihi South Survey District, and Section 4 of Block VIII, Maketu Survey District, and that boundary produced to the south-eastern corner of Section 5 of the aforesaid block, and thence by the southern boundary of said section and Section 17 of aforesaid block to and across the Kaikokopu River, and by that river to the south corner of Section 16 of Block VII, Maketu Survey District; towards the south-west by the south-west boundary of the last said section; towards the north-west generally by the north-western boundaries of Section 16,
