Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force:—
Commands.
The period of the command of the Canterbury Military District granted Colonel Ralph Anderson Chaffey, v.d., as published in New Zealand Gazette No. 63, of the 2nd July, 1914, is extended during the period of the war.
5th Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars).
Major Henry Scott Orbell is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 13th May, 1916.
7th (Southland) Mounted Rifles.
Lieutenant-Colonel Edmund Robert Bowler is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is absorbed into the establishment. Dated 13th May, 1916.
New Zealand Garrison Artillery.
Lieutenant Ernest Claude Rawnsley (Reserve of Officers) relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer to the Coast Defence Commander (Canterbury) with the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 6th May, 1916.
Corps of New Zealand Engineers.

2nd Lieutenant Clifford Anderson Rowe, seconded from the Unattached List (b), is posted temporarily with seniority next after 2nd Lieutenant Matthew Prust Stewart, to fill the vacancy caused by the absence of 2nd Lieutenant Bowring on active service. Dated 31st March, 1916.
Coast Defence Detachment.
Lieutenant Gilbert Walpole Coombe, seconded from the Unattached List (b), is posted temporarily with seniority next after Lieutenant Donald Millar, to fill the vacancy caused by the absence of Lieutenant Powley on active service. Dated 14th April, 1916.
5th (Wellington) Regiment.
Douglas Creighton Todd to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary), vice Lieutenant B. R. Lankshear, with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 3rd May, 1916.
10th (North Otago) Regiment.
Lieutenant Colonel John Harper Moir is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is absorbed into the establishment. Dated 13th May, 1916.
15th (North Auckland) Regiment.
Captain John Henry Bartlett to be Major, under provisions of paragraph III, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 28th April, 1916.
17th (Ruahine) Regiment.
Francis John Lound to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary), vice Lieutenant McLeod with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 1st May, 1916.
New Zealand Army Service Corps.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 5th May, 1916:—

New Zealand Medical Corps.
Frederick Truby King, M.B., M.S., Edin., is granted the honorary rank of Major during the period of the war. Dated 13th May, 1916.

Lieutenant Reginald Rossiter Arthur (Dental Surgeon) is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is absorbed. Dated 26th May, 1915.
