corner of Section 14 of Matamata South; thence following the said railway-line in a southerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 7 of Block 11, Tapapa; thence along the southern boundary of the said section to the Waitoa River; thence in a northerly direction to the south-eastern corner of Section 57 of Block 11, Tapapa; thence along the southern boundary of the said section to the Puketutu Road on the western boundary of the said section; thence in a northerly direction until the said road is intersected by the county boundary-line at the south-western corner of Section 25 of Puketutu No. 1A; thence in a northerly direction to the northern corner of Section 26 of Puketutu No. 1A, the commencing-point; and more particularly delineated on the attached plan marked “A.” And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of July in each and every year during the period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate of interest to be 4½ per centum per annum, exclusive of sinking fund; and the half-yearly instalment in respect of principal and interest to be £2 16s. 1d. for each £100 of the loan. The first year’s interest and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Matamata County Council on the 1st day of February, 1916.

COUNTY OF TARANAKI.
HOANI ROAD SPECIAL LOAN OF £65, BEING TEN PER CENT. ON THE ORIGINAL LOAN OF £650.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £65 (being ten per cent. on the original loan of £650), authorized to be raised by the Taranaki County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming, metalling, and culverting the Hoani Road, the said Taranaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hoani Road Special-rating Area, comprising sections subdivisions 1, 2A, 2B, 3, pt. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of Section 1, Block V, Cape Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Taranaki County Council held on the 1st day of May, 1916.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS by section 3 of the Hutt Road Act, 1915, it is provided that towards the cost of forming and constructing the Hutt Road there shall be payable by each of the local authorities mentioned in the First Schedule thereto the sum set opposite the name of the local authority in the said Schedule: And whereas the Lower Hutt Borough Council is one of the local authorities as mentioned: And whereas the same Act authorizes the issue by each of the local authorities of debentures for the amount payable by it as aforesaid: And whereas it is further provided that for the purpose of paying the interest and sinking fund in respect of debentures so issued the local authority shall make and levy a special rate on all rateable property within its district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of eight thousand four hundred pounds (£8,400), authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing its share of the cost of the construction of the Hutt Road as set out in the First Schedule to the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the district, comprising the whole of the Borough of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the last days of September and March in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at Lower Hutt at a duly constituted meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council held in the Borough Council Chamber, Lower Hutt, on Monday, the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

UPON the petition of Bing Harris and Company (Limited), of Wellington, Soft-goods Merchants, and Fulton and Company, of Wellington, Merchants, on the 3rd day of April, 1916, preferred unto the Honourable Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; and upon hearing counsel for the petitioners and for the Voluntary Liquidator; and upon reading the said petition, affidavits of Charles Bainbridge Trimmell and Guy Leslie Fulton verifying the said petition, and an affidavit of John Aston in support of the petition filed herein, the New Zealand Gazette of the 4th day of May, 1916, the Evening Post of the 3rd day of May, 1916, the Manawatu Daily Times of the 4th day of May, 1916, and the Manawatu Evening Standard of the 4th day of May, 1916, each containing an advertisement of the said petition; and upon reading the affidavit of Ernest Mansfield Beechy verifying the replies of thirty creditors of the said company favouring the winding-up of the said company by this honourable Court: This Court doth order that the said R. D. Barford and Company (Limited) be wound up by this honourable Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that this order shall, within twelve days after the date hereof, be advertised by the petitioners once in the New Zealand Gazette; and a copy of this order shall be served on Henry Alexander Wunsch, of Palmerston North, the Voluntary Liquidator of the said R. D. Barford and Company (Limited).
