That the land be leased to Walter Eder, of Saltwater Creek, farmer, for a term of twenty-one years from 1st June, 1916, at a rental of £35 per annum for the first seven years, and thereafter at an annual rental equivalent to 5 per cent. on a Government valuation to be made at the expiration of the first and second periods of seven years of the said term, or the sum of £35 per annum, whichever is the higher rental. |
(2.) That the rents be paid to Wereta Tainui Pitama (Chairman), Ihakara Karaitiana, (Treasurer), and William Daniel Barrett (Secretary), or such other sub-committees as may from time to time be appointed by the Runanga Maori Council, Tuahiwi, to receive the rents of the above land.
(3.) That the rents be applied, firstly, for the upkeep of the Native cemeteries and the sanitary conditions of the Tuahiwi Pa generally; secondly, for any educational or charitable or other purposes of benefit to the Native owners of the land or their successors (Papprill and Conlan). |
Notice of Meeting of Owners under Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909.
REGULATION No. 52.
THE Maori Land Board for the Tairawhiti Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Pourewa Island is summoned and will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at Tolaga Bay on Monday, the 12th day of June, 1916, at 7 o’clock in the evening, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolution:—
“1. That the Pourewa Island be leased to Jessie Edith Loisel, of Waihau, married woman, for a period of twenty-one years at a rental of not less than 5 per centum on the present Government valuation of the said land, together with the right to a renewal for a further term of twenty-one years at a rental equal to not less than 5 per centum on the then unimproved Government valuation of the said land, or with the right to compensation for improvements should the lease be not renewed; in the alternative
“2. That the said land be sold to Jessie Edith Loisel at not less than the present Government valuation.”

REGULATION No. 52.
THE Maori Land Board for the Tairawhiti Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Pahitaua No. 4 is summoned and will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at Tuparoa on Saturday, the 10th day of June, 1916, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolution:—
“1. That the Pahitaua 4 be leased to Edmond T. Wilder, of Waipiro, station-manager, for a term of twenty-one years at a rental not less than 5 per centum of the present Government valuation of the said land, together with the right to a renewal for a further term of twenty-one years at a rental equal to 5 per centum of the then unimproved Government valuation of the said land, or with the right to compensation for improvements should the lease be not renewed; in the alternative
“2. That the said Pahitaua 4 be sold to Edmond T. Wilder at not less than the present capital valuation.”
