Land taken for a Portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway—viz., Portion of the Branch Line to a Wharf on the Left Bank of the Wairoa River, opposite the Town of Wairoa.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway—viz., portion of the branch line to a wharf on the left bank of the Wairoa River, opposite the Town of Wairoa:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the said portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 4 acres 1 rood 5 perches.

Being land or road between Awatere No. 2 and the Wairoa River, Block II, Clyde Survey District (Hawke’s Bay R.D.).

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40112, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of April, 1916.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Waikato, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the said area be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, and to be called by the name of the “Mangawara Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fourth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees of the said district shall consist of five persons to be elected as members of the said Board, and under and in accordance with the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

MANGAWARA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at Pukemore Trig. Station No. 676A; thence along a right line to the road at the south-eastern corner of Section 390, Taupiri Parish, along that road to the northern boundary of Block XII, Rangiriri Survey District; thence due east to the road near the southernmost corner of Section 348, along that road to and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 348 to the junction of roads at the easternmost corner of Section 349; thence north-easterly to the junction of roads on the south-western boundary of Section 280, along the road intersecting that section to the junction of roads at the westernmost corner of Section 23, along the road forming the southern boundary of that section, along the western and south-western boundaries of Section 24, the abutment of a road, and the south-western boundaries of Sections 25 and 26 to the Matahuru Stream, along that stream to the road forming the western boundary of Section 241, along that road and the road running south-easterly fronting Sections 197, 199, 202, 204, and 206, to Section 324, along the road forming the western boundary of Section 324, along the western and southern boundaries of Section 331 and the western boundary of Section 342 to its southernmost corner; thence along the road forming the south-eastern boundary of that section and the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 467 to the Mangawara Stream, along that stream westward to the road at the north-western corner of Section 151; thence along that road running northward past Sections 188, 189, 190, 192, and 193, and the road along the northern boundaries of Sections 193, 194, and 196, along the western boundary of Section 196 to its south-western corner, and thence along a right line to Trig. Station Pukemore, the place of commencement.

Regulations relating to Butter made from Milk-fat in Whey.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of March, 1916.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations made under the said Act on the fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the Gazette of the sixth day of the same month, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the eighteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.


SCHEDULE.

PARAGRAPH 17 of Part II of the said regulations (relating to butter) is hereby amended as follows:—

(a.) By inserting, after the words “and includes” in clause (1), the words “whey butter and.”

(b.) By inserting, after the said clause (1), the following new clause:—

“Whey Butter.

“(1A.) Whey butter is butter which is manufactured wholly or in part from milk-fat recovered from whey.”

(c.) By inserting, after clause (6), the following new clause:—

“(6A.) Whey butter shall not be sold save with a statement or label attached on which shall be clearly written or printed, on a white ground in black capitals of a size not less than one-half of an inch in length, the words “Whey butter.”
