FITZROY RIVER.—ROCKY POINT BAR.—LIGHTED BEACONS ERECTED.—The Government of Queensland has given notice that on 24th November, 1915, two leading-beacons, carrying fixed white lights, and a “turn-off” beacon, carrying a fixed red light, would be established as guides to the new cutting through Rocky Point Bar, Fitzroy River.
Directions.—Vessels entering the river, after passing Rocky Point, should bring two white triangular beacons (white lights at night), which will open out on the port bow, into line ahead, and proceed with these in line until a square mark (red light at night), erected on the stone wall on the port hand, is abeam; the range line should then be left and the usual course steered for Thompson’s Point.

JAPAN.
ENTRANCE TO NAGASAKI HARBOUR.—Notice is hereby given that Tategami buoy, immediately to E. of the sunken rock which lies E. of Tategami-bana near Mitsubishi Co.’s Dock, Nagasaki Harbour, has been permanently withdrawn.
INLAND SEA.—Notice is hereby given that the character and candle-power of the light of Tsuru-shima Lighthouse W. of Gogo-shima, Province of Iyo, have been changed since the 6th of December, 1915.
GULF OF TOKYO.—Notice is hereby given that Ara-su lighted buoy on the east extreme of Ara-su off Hommoku-bana will be permanently withdrawn in the middle of December, 1915, and at the same time the following Lighted Submarine Signal-buoy will be moored in the same position.
Ara-su Lighted Submarine Signal-buoy.
Description.—Iron, conical in shape, painted black, surmounted by a lattice-work supporting a lantern and a bell, while a submarine bell hanged into the water under the 18 shaku from the sea-level.
Height of light.—12 shaku above the sea-level.
Character.—Acetylene-gas flashing green light, showing a flash in every 3 seconds.
Illuminated arc.—The whole horizon.
Power.—16 candles.
Distance visible.—5 nautical miles in clear night.
Notice is hereby given that Kawasaki buoy, S. end of Haneda Spit, Gulf of Tokyo, will be permanently withdrawn in the middle of December, 1915, and at the same time Kawasaki lighted buoy will be moored in the same position.
Kawasaki Lighted Buoy.
Description.—Iron frustum of cone, painted black, surmounted by a lattice-work supporting a lantern.
Height of light.—10 shaku above the sea-level.
Character.—Pintsch-gas flashing white light, showing a flash in every 4 seconds.
Illuminated arc.—The whole horizon.
Power.—60 candles.
Distance visible.—8 nautical miles in clear night.
Further notices will be given after the above changes have been effected.

OTAGO LOWER HARBOUR.—DREDGING OPERATIONS AT THE BEND, SOUTH OF HARRINGTON POINT.

Wellington, N.Z., 26th January, 1916.
THE Otago Harbour Board notifies that dredging operations have been commenced in the Bend, South of Harrington Point, in the vicinity of red beacons Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Mariners are warned to navigate the channel on the port-hand side or black-pile side of the channel, in order to steer clear of the moorings of the dredge.
