enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby make the following regulations; and doth hereby
declare that the said regulations shall come into force on the
date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


REGULATIONS.

(1.) WHEN coal is being transferred by means of baskets
running on a tramway from one vessel to another, the master,
or person in charge of the vessel, shall see that a net is
stretched under the tramway in such a manner as to catch
a man if he should fall whilst working on the plank or tram-
way. Should the net be found to in any way interfere with
the basket being landed on the tram, then some other efficient
means may be used in lieu of the net, providing that such
means are approved by the Marine Department’s Surveyor.

(2.) Every person who omits to observe or commits a
breach of this regulation is liable to a fine not exceeding £50.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £1,000
proposed to be raised by the Council of the County of Piako.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth
day of January, 1916.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Piako County Council lately proposed
to raise a loan of one thousand pounds, under the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of completing
the metalling of Number One Road, Waiota: And whereas
the special roll of the ratepayers interested was not prepared,
completed, and deposited before any steps were taken to raise
the loan, as required by section seventeen of the above-men-
tioned Act: And whereas it appears that the said ratepayers
have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it
is expedient to validate the aforesaid proceedings:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred by section one hundred and eleven of the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth validate the proceedings taken to raise the
above loan; and doth hereby declare that the said proceedings
shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same
had been carried out in the proper manner, and that the
proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be
called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Tokomaru,
Wellington Land District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS the provisions and requirements of the
seventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, have been duly complied with in respect of the
land described in the Schedule hereto: And whereas notices
in the Gazette have been duly published for four consecutive
weeks, and laid before Parliament, as provided by the said
section of the said Act: And whereas no resolution of either
House of Parliament has been passed that such House does
not concur in the intention declared in any such notice:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Act aforesaid, do hereby change
the specific purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule
hereto from a site for a post and telegraph office to a site
for a police station.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 2, Town of Tokomaru. Bounded towards the
north-west by Matipo Street, 500 links; towards the north-
east by Tawa Street, 175 links; towards the south-east by
Section No. 4, 500 links; and towards the south-west by
Section No. 68, 175 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen.

Notifying Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale
by Public Auction.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section
of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the ninth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as the
time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto
shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the
prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those men-
tioned in the said Schedule hereto.

and motor-car road, and in the line of the tourist route

DANNEVIRKE COUNTY.—NORSEWOOD SURVEY DISTRICT.

Section 73, Block XIV: Area, 7 acres 1 rood 30 perches.
Upset price, £186.

Situated within half a mile of Mangatera Post-office and
Railway-station and two miles and a half from Borough of
Dannevirke, fronting the Main Dannevirke-Napier Road.
Mostly level, good soil, carrying good grass. There is a fine
site for a residence.

this tenth day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Trustees for the Te Puia Public Cemetery appointed.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint

ANDREW KIRKE GILMOUR and
ALBERT TUCKWELL

to be Trustees, in the place of George William Good, and
William Painter, who have left the district, to provide for
the maintenance and care of the Te Puia Public Cemetery,
in conjunction with Charles Henry McCracken and James
Edward Clews, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.
