the Coromandel Acclimatization District, comprising the County of Coromandel and Gannet Island (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of cock pheasants that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twelve. And I do further notify that licenses to kill such imported game within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Postmasters at Whitianga, Cabbage Bay, Kuaotuna, and Coromandel are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.

And I do further notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, spoonbill duck, teal, black swan, and pukeko—may be killed within the above-mentioned district (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

GANNET Island.

All lands notified or set apart as sanctuaries or reserves for the preservation of imported or native game.

Special Regulations for Deer-shooting, Waitaki.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the conditions under which certain red and fallow deer may be destroyed in the Waitaki Acclimatization District.

REGULATIONS.

  1. NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the regulations made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated 11th March, 1916, the Secretary of the Waitaki Acclimatization Society at Oamaru, or any person or persons duly authorized in writing by such Secretary, may, during the period hereinafter mentioned, kill red and fallow deer of either sex and of any age which, in the opinion of the said Secretary or of the said authorized persons, should be destroyed either by reason of age, deformity, or other physical imperfection.

  2. Such deer may be destroyed as aforesaid from the date hereof to 31st December, 1916.

  3. A return shall be furnished to the Minister of Internal Affairs by the said Secretary within one calendar month after the expiry of the aforesaid period, and such return shall state the number and sexes of all red and fallow deer so destroyed as aforesaid, the dates and name of person by whom and the locality in which the deer were destroyed.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or any portion thereof.

  5. Any person who commits a breach of any of the provisions of these regulations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £20.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Special Regulations for Deer-shooting, Otago.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the conditions under which certain red and fallow deer may be destroyed in the Otago Acclimatization District.

REGULATIONS.

  1. NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the regulations made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated 21st March, 1916, the Secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society at Dunedin, or any person or persons duly authorized in writing by such Secretary, may, during the period hereinafter mentioned, kill red and fallow deer of either sex and of any age which, in the opinion of the said Secretary or of the said authorized persons, should be destroyed either by reason of age, deformity, or other physical imperfection.

  2. Such deer may be destroyed as aforesaid from the date hereof to 31st December, 1916.

  3. Special Shooting Season for Native Game, Chatham Islands.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby exempt from the operation of section twenty-six of the said Act the Chatham Islands County, comprising the Chatham Islands; and do notify that the following native game—namely, grey duck, black swan, pukeko, and teal—may be killed within the said Chatham Islands County from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, both days inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Nelson Land District known as Pastoral Run No. 19, Tarndale, containing 160,000 acres, as provided by the said section two hundred and twenty-five.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
