Lands set apart for Disposal by Way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Ordinary Tenures, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
SECTION 17, Block XVI, Huangarua Survey District, Featherston County: Area, 707 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land set apart for Disposal by Way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.
Crown Land.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 112 acres 1 rood 18 perches, more or less, being Section 23, Block II, Takapau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Otawhao A No. 4 and A No. 11 Blocks for 9101·4 links, towards the south-east by railway reserve for 1340·96 links, towards the south-west by Otawhao 5B Block for 8844·2 links, and towards the north-west by public road for 1279 links.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 0 roods 37 perches, more or less, being Section 29, Block VI, Takapau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Otawhao 5B Block for 2702·9 links, towards the south-east by railway reserve for 3832·7 links, and towards the north-east by public road for 2094·9 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Land in Nelson Land District declared to be subject to Section 127 of the Land Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Land Board of the Nelson Land District has recommended that the Crown tenant of the land described in the Schedule hereto should be afforded relief, owing to exceptional circumstances over which he has no control preventing the profitable occupation of such land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section twenty-five of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1911, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Land Act, 1908; and I do further fix four years from the date mentioned in the said Schedule as the period for which the said land shall be exempt from payment of rent.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 9, Block X, Brighton Survey District: 1st July, 1915.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

GOD SAVE THE KING!

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:

And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was taken for the purposes of a road: And whereas such road has been stopped, and it is desirable to declare the land contained therein to be Crown land: And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be Crown land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that such land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of stopped road declared to be Crown land: 3 acres 1 rood 9·5 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Okahuatia No. 1A (Poverty Bay R.D.), Block XV, Waikohu Survey District.
