as Nos. 271 and 290 respectively, all those parcels of land containing 1 rood 2 perches and 9·5 perches, portions of Lot 2, Subdivision D, Heretaunga Block, and 1 rood 36·1 perches, being Lot 38, D.P. 2996, and 8·12 perches, part of Lot 39, D.P. 2996, also of Lot 2, Subdivision D, Heretaunga Block, all situated in Block XV, Heretaunga Survey District, Borough of Hastings, were taken for the purposes of the Wellington–Napier Railway: And whereas the said Lucy Frances Warren and Anna Lydia Williams are the persons entitled to the compensation payable for or in respect of the said land: And whereas the Minister of Railways has agreed to grant to the said Lucy Frances Warren and Anna Lydia Williams a right-of-way over a portion of the railway reserve formerly part of Lot 39, D.P. 2996, part of Subdivision D, Heretaunga Block, situated in Block XV, Heretaunga Survey District, Borough of Hastings, as part satisfaction and mitigation of the compensation so payable as aforesaid, in position to be approved by the District Railway Engineer, such right-of-way to be appurtenant to Sections 40 to 53 inclusive, shown on the said D.P. 2996:

Now, therefore, I, William Herbert Herries, Minister of Railways, do hereby give notice, in pursuance of the provisions of section 84 of the Public Works Act, 1908, that a memorandum of agreement dated the 19th day of February, 1916, agreeing to grant such right-of-way to the said Lucy Frances Warren and Anna Lydia Williams, their heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and successors, was this day assented to by me.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XV, Whakatane Survey District, for Road Purposes.


NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XV, Whakatane Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waimana, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 18 perches.

Portion of Section 240, Waiotahi Parish (S.O. 18740), Block XV, Whakatane Survey District.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39800, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Pirongia Survey District, for Road Purposes.


NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block V, Pirongia Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Oparau, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken:—

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a post-office in Block XVI, Mangaoporo Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kahukura, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

Portion of Manutahi No. 2b Block (Poverty Bay R.D.), Block XVI, Mangaoporo Survey District.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39348, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Clothing, &c.


Wellington, 26th April, 1916.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman, not later than 4 p.m. on Thursday, the 4th May, 1916, for the supply and delivery of clothing, &c., to the training ship “Amokura” at Wellington, for the period ending 31st March, 1917. Tenders are to be marked “Tender for Clothing, Training-ship “Amokura.”

Copies of conditions of supply and forms of tender may be obtained from the Secretary, Marine Department, Customs Buildings, Wellington, where the samples of clothing, &c., may be seen.
