Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists and Druggists'
Shops in the Borough of Lyttelton, under the Shops and
Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the chemists and druggists'
shops within the Borough of Lyttelton, has been forwarded
to me, desiring that all such shops in the district shall be
closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday,
7 p.m.; Tuesday, 7 p.m.; Wednesday, 7 p.m.; Thursday,
7 p.m.; Friday, 9 p.m.:

And whereas the Lyttelton Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of chemists' shops within the Borough of
Lyttelton:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th
day of April, 1916, all chemists and druggists' shops in the
Borough of Lyttelton shall be closed in accordance with such
requisition, subject to the closing at not later than 1 p.m.
for the statutory half-holiday; provided, however, that on
the statutory half-holiday chemists' shops may reopen from
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only for the supply of medicines and surgical
appliances.

The notice gazetted on the 24th June, 1915, is hereby
cancelled.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Kowhai Street, in the Town of
Riverview, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby
authorize the laying-off of Kowhai Street, in the Town of
Riverview, in the Southland Land District, of a width of not
less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

War Regulations Act, 1914.β€”Highway at Featherston Camp
closed for Traffic except with Consent of Military Authorities.

Wellington, 12th March, 1916.

WHEREAS by clause 13 of the War Regulations made
and gazetted on the 20th day of September, 1915,
it is provided that the Minister of Defence may, by notice
signed by him and published in the Gazette, declare that any
highway adjoining or intersecting any camp of military
training or exercise is closed for traffic except with the con-
sent of the military authorities, and that so long as any such
notice remains unrevoked the highway to which it relates
shall for the purpose of the War Regulations be deemed to
be no longer a highway, but to be part of the camp which it
so adjoins or intersects:

Now, therefore I, James Allen, the Minister of Defence
for the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-
recited power and authority, do hereby declare that part
of the Featherston-Greytown Road commencing at the south-
