Land taken for a Further Portion of the North Auckland Railway (Branch Line to Whangarei) and for a Road-diversion in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the North Auckland Railway (branch line to Whangarei), and for a road-diversion in connection therewith:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified, and for the road-diversion in connection therewith as aforesaid.

Situated in Ruarangi Parish, Block VIII, Tangihua Survey District [S.O. 18438 (5)].

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38102 (sheet 5), deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies: and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Purposes of a Road in Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, or the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that in the Schedule to the Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 141, page 3989, of the ninth day of the same month, the area 9 acres 3 roods 28 perches is described as being portion of Kaiwaka No. 1 Block, Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District: And whereas the said area is portion of the Kaiwaka Block, Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District:

And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and all other powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the words “No. 1” in the Schedule to the said Proclamation.

Canterbury Patriotic Fund incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of April, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing addressed to the Minister, has been made by the Canterbury Patriotic Fund (being a society possessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that association: And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the association known as the Canterbury Patriotic Fund is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “Canterbury Patriotic Fund.”

Declaring Portion of Whaka Road, in the Stratford County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this third day of April, 1916.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road, in the Stratford County, Taranaki Land District, known as Whaka Road, commencing at its junction with Manga Road, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally along the frontages of Sections 3 and 6, Block I, Taurakawa Survey District, and terminating
