Awakino County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the forming, widening, culverting, and metalling of the portion of the Mahoenui-Kawhia Road in the Waitanguru Special-rating Area (the previous loan raised having been found insufficient to complete these works), the said Awakino County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and seven-eighths pence in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Waitanguru Special-rating Area, comprising the following sections: Sections 1, 2, 5, 15, 16, Block VI, Maungamangero Survey District; and portion of Section 3, Block II, Maungamangero Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DANNEVIRKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Dannevirke County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of nine hundred and fifty pounds (£950), authorized to be raised by the Dannevirke County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the metalling of about three hundred and ninety-one chains (391) of the Makaretu River Road, from the junction of the Norsewood—South Makaretu Road to its junction with the main Napier Road, the said Dannevirke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-one thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Makaretu River Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 5 and 7 of 1L, 38, 6 of 1L, -1 of 2B No. 2, 1J, 1K, 2 and 3 of 2B No. 2, 4 of 2B No. 2, 2B No. 1, all of Block III, Norsewood Survey District; 1, 1E, 1N, 1C, 3B No. 1, 3B No. 2, 3B No. 3B, and 3B No. 3A, all of Block I, Takapau Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off.”

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

ARAWHATA (DRAIN) LOAN OF £200.—RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council for drain-construction and clearing line, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven twenty-thirds of one penny (7/23rds of 1d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Arawhata Special-rating District, comprising Horowhenua 11, part B 41 South, Sections D 1, D 2, G 1, G 2, G 3, G 5, and Horowhenua 11A, Sections A 9 and A 10, II, Waitohu S.D.; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a duly convened and constituted meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on Saturday, the eleventh day of March, 1916.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of sixteen thousand five hundred pounds (£16,500), authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of augmenting and extending the existing water-supply of the Borough of Masterton, the said Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·50d. in the pound sterling upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Masterton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Masterton; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of April and October in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years or thereabouts—that is to say, until the first day of April, 1951—or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was passed by the Masterton Borough Council at a special meeting held in the Council Chambers, Chapel Street, Masterton, on Monday, 27th March, 1916.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twelve thousand pounds (£12,000), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the Christchurch City electrical undertaking, in respect of which a loan of £120,000 was authorized to be raised, and which said loan of £120,000 is found insufficient to complete the said undertaking, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-two eight-hundred-and-forty-sevenths (32/847ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within that portion of the City of Christchurch the boundaries of which are defined in the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, dated 29th June, 1911, page 2058.

And the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 27th day of March, 1916.

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wanganui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000), authorized to be raised by the Wanganui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes, namely,—

  1. The providing, erecting, supplying, and completing of gas, oil, or other engines, and all plant, machinery, appliances, apparatus, and things necessary or convenient at the power-house, Wanganui, for the purpose of providing or supplying additional or further electrical power in connection with the tramways of the Borough of Wanganui; for the more efficient and better working of the said tramways, and the supply and providing of electrical power and electric light to private consumers in the said borough; and the erection, providing, and supplying of all necessary poles, cables, meters, machinery, plant,
