this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was purchased for a public work: And whereas such land is not now required for such purpose, and it is desirable to declare the said land to be Crown land: And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be Crown land:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that such land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown land: 67 acres 1 rood 15 perches.
Being portion of Section 7, Picton Suburban (Marlborough R.D.).
Situated in Block XII, Linkwater Survey District.
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39738, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners and mortgagees of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Karaka Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Drury Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 4 acres 2 roods 10 perches.
Portion of Section 20.
Coloured on plan: Red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ROAD CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 3 acres 2 roods 22·8 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 20 and 33.
Coloured on plan: Green.
All situated in Karaka Parish, Blocks II and VI, Drury Survey District (S.O. 18695).
All in the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39295, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
