Notifying Lands in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Open land, good soil, consisting of light deep loamy clay, on gravel subsoil. The sections are weighted with valuation for improvements as follows: Section 23, £177 7s. for house, outbuildings, and fencing; Section 24, £50 for house; Section 25, £15 for hut; Section 27, £45 for house; Section 99, £66 for house and fencing; Section 100, £96 15s. for house and fencing.

Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Altitude ranges from about 35 ft. to about 100 ft. above sea-level. All flat bush land, with some low terraces; bush consists of rimu, matai, totara, white-pine, miro, broadleaf, kamahi, birch, &c., partly cut out by sawmilling. The soil is good, consisting of a light deep loam, on gravel subsoil. The sections are bounded on the south-east by a chain reserve along the Waiau River, and well water can also probably be obtained at a moderate depth. Situated from close to Papatotara School, post-office, and store, to about two miles distant; and from two miles to four miles and a half from Tuatapere Railway-station by good gravelled roads.

to be a Trustee, in the place of John Gillies, who has left the district, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Bunnythorpe Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Edwin Cleavely, John Print, Las Lassen, Jorgen Jepson, and John Sheidt, previously appointed.
