And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of widening the said road, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington on and after the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken:—

0 0 0·35, portion of Lot 60; coloured red.
0 0 0·67 " 59 " blue.

On D.P. 475, being part of Original Section 1, Evans Bay R.D. (City of Wellington).

Situated in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39595, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this first day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a gravel-pit in Block X, Makotuku Survey District, Waimarino County:

And whereas the Waimarino County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said gravel-pit as from the date hereinafter specified, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waimarino; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 7 acres 1 rood 25 perches.

Portion of Mairekura C Block, Block X, Makotuku Survey District.

Revoking a Proclamation taking Land for the Purpose of Waterworks in Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation or the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or in so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that the land, being portion of R.S. 122, Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District, taken for the purposes of waterworks by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, and dated the twenty-third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 80, page 3265, of the thirtieth day of the same month, is no longer required for the purpose for which it was taken: And whereas compensation in respect of the land taken by the said Proclamation has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909; and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this first day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
