Constituting the Town District of Manurewa, in the County of Manukau.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the Town Boards Act, 1908, that the Governor may declare that any locality outside a borough wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district:

And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the said petition, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under the Town Boards Act, 1908:

And whereas a Commission appointed in pursuance of section two of the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1912, held an inquiry, and reported that the locality defined in the said petition was suitable for municipal control, and made certain alterations of the boundaries thereof:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto, being the locality defined in the said petition, with boundaries as altered by the said Commission, shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, on and from the first day of April, 1916, by the name of the Manurewa Town District. And, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of seven members.

SCHEDULE.

MANUREWA TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line along the middle of Brown’s Road from a point in line with western boundary of Lot 18 of subdivision of Clendon’s Grant, shown on plan No. 4436 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to and along the middle of Oram’s Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Price’s Subdivision of Clendon’s Grant; thence to and along the said western boundary and along the northern boundary of the said subdivision and that boundary produced for a distance of 1600 links; thence along a line parallel to the eastern boundary of Lot 3 of subdivision of Clendon’s Grant on plan No. 9996 deposited as aforesaid, for a distance of 2300 links; thence along a right line parallel to Oram’s Road to the eastern boundary of Lot 3 aforesaid; along the eastern boundary of that lot to the westernmost corner of the subdivision of Clendon’s Grant on plan No. 6888 deposited as aforesaid; along the northern boundary of that subdivision to its intersection by a right line running from the northernmost corner of Subdivision 18 of Clendon’s Grant parallel to the eastern boundary of the aforesaid subdivision on plan No. 6888, and along the said right line to the northernmost corner of Subdivision 18 aforesaid; along a right line to the westernmost corner of Subdivision 20 of Clendon’s Grant, and along the south-western boundary of that subdivision to the Manurewa–Papakura Valley Road; along the northern side of that road to its intersection by a right line running through Lot 1 of Allotment 13, Papakura Parish, parallel to and 600 links distant from the western boundary of the said Lot 1; thence along the said right line to and along the southern boundary of that lot and across the road forming its western boundary; along the western side of that road to the road forming the northern boundary of Allotment 11, Parish of Papakura; along the northern side of that road and the eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundary of Allotment 8 to a point in line with its northern boundary; thence to and along the northern boundary of that allotment to the south-western corner of the subdivision of Allotment 7, Parish of Papakura, containing 30 acres, and shown on deeds record R. 110, page 521, in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence along the western boundary of that subdivision to a point distant 1500 links from the southern side of Weymouth Road; thence along a right line parallel to and 1500 links distant from the southern side of Weymouth Road to its intersection by the production of a line parallel to the eastern boundary of Lot 34 of subdivision of Clendon’s Grant shown on plan No. 4436 aforesaid, and distant therefrom 800 links; thence along the said right line to the northern boundary of that Lot 34 aforesaid, along part of the northern boundary of that lot, the northern boundary of Lot 35 and part of the northern boundary of Subdivision 13 of Lot 36 to Lot 50 on plan No. 4436 aforesaid; and thence along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 50 and that boundary produced to the middle of Brown’s Road, the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
