Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Northcote Domain.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty-seven of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, appoint any local authority to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of any public domain:
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Northcote Domain:
And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen:
And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the
NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL
to be the Northcote Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Northcote Hall, Northcote, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
NORTHCOTE DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Town of Northcote, Takapuna Parish, Waitemata County, being sections numbered 1 to 10 consecutively, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Section 11, 170 links; on the east by a street, 1220 links; on the south by a street, 75 links; and on the west by the Waitemata Harbour: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Town of Northcote, Takapuna Parish, Waitemata County, being known as Lot 68, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 29 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north by a street, 395 links and 310 links; towards the north-east by Section 67, a school endowment, 180 links; and towards the east and west generally by the Waitemata Harbour: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1039, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Extending Time for holding Annual Meeting of the Manukau County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.

WHEREAS by section seventy-five of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the annual meeting of the various County Councils throughout the Dominion shall be held at noon on the fourth Wednesday in November:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such annual meeting of the Manukau County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority vested in him by section two hundred and seventeen of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the annual meeting of the Manukau County Council, and doth hereby order and declare that such annual meeting shall be held and take place on Tuesday, the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at the office of the said Manukau County Council.

Licensing the Kauri Timber Company (Limited) to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Land below Low-water Mark on the Whenuakite River, Coromandel County, as a Site for Timber-booms.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, there being no Harbour Board empowered to grant the license hereinafter mentioned, the Kauri Timber Company (Limited), of Auckland (hereinafter called “the company”), did, in the year one thousand nine hundred and eleven, apply to the Governor in Council for a license under the Harbours Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), to occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark on the Whenuakite River, Coromandel County, in order to construct and maintain thereon timber booms; and, in accordance with the one-hundred-and-fiftieth section of the said Act, deposited a plan in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington (marked M.D. 3743), showing the place where it was intended to construct such timber-booms, the area of foreshore and land below-low-water mark intended to be occupied for such purpose, and the manner in which it was proposed to carry out the work: And whereas, it having been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed work would not be or tend to the injury of navigation, and the said plan having been, prior to the making of the Order in Council granting the license, approved by the Governor in Council, a license under the said Act, for the purpose aforesaid, was, on the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, granted and issued to the company on the terms and conditions therein expressed for a period terminating on the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, a fresh license was granted to the company until the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen:
And whereas the company has made application for a license under the said Act to occupy the said foreshore and land below low-water mark for the purpose aforesaid for a further period of two years from the date of expiry of the license last hereinbefore mentioned, and it is expedient to grant the same subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter expressed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the purpose or object for which the said license is required by the company as aforesaid; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority, and by and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby license and permit the company to use and occupy that part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark which is particularly shown and delineated on the plan so deposited as aforesaid, for the purpose of maintaining thereon timber-booms constructed in accordance with the said plan, such license to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

In these conditions the term “Minister” means the Minister of Marine as defined by the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, and includes any officer, person, or authority acting by or under the direction of such Minister.
