Also all that area bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Allotment 124 of Suburban Section 2; thence westward along the part of northern boundary of the Borough of Pukekohe, and along the part of western boundary of that borough to the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 136; along the south-eastern boundary of that allotment to a point distant 606 links from its southernmost corner, thence along a right line parallel to the western boundaries of Allotments 136, 137, and 138; thence eastward along part of the southern boundary of Allotment 139, the southern boundary of 132, and across a road to the south-western corner of Allotment 126; along the southern and eastern boundaries of that allotment, across a road, and along the eastern boundary of Allotment 124 to its north-eastern corner, the place of commencement.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block XIV, Woodville Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for a ferry and ferry-house, being a purpose within Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a quarry, being a purpose within the said Class I:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the said land shall, from and after the date hereof, be appropriated for quarry purposes under Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.


SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 7 perches, more or less, being Section 20 (formerly part of Section 18), Block XIV,

Woodville Survey District. Bounded towards the north by road, 40·1 links; towards the east by Section 18, 887·5 links; towards the north-east by said Section 18 and road, 1134·8 links; towards the south-east by said Section 18, 558·9 links; towards the south-west by road and railway reserve, 828·5 links; and towards the west generally by railway reserve, 1544·5 links: excluding the road which intersects the above-described area. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/788, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limits of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor in Council:

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the loans set out in column B therein:

And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the loans hereinbefore mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
