Commencing at a point in Kowhai Creek, in Section 23,
Block III, Alton District, near the point at which the said
creek enters the said section; and running thence in a
north-easterly direction to a point in the Tuatapere Road;
and running thence in an easterly direction along the said
road to a point near the south-east corner of Section 30,
Block III, Alton District; and running thence in an east-
north-easterly direction through Sections 30 and 31 of said
Block III to applicant's sawmill near Clifden Road.
Length and intended course of race: 62 chains; in an
easterly direction from Kowhai Creek to applicant's saw-
mill near Clifden Road.
Points of intake: In Kowhai Creek near north boundary
of Section 23, Block III, Alton District.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Three weeks;
£40.
Mean depth and breadth: 9 in. deep by 2 ft. wide.
Number of heads to be diverted: Two.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Industrial
purposes in connection with sawmill.
Proposed term of license: Seven years.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
and the several Acts amending the same, and of the
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.
WE, JOHN VIGOR BROWN, Mayor of Napier, and ARTHUR
WARD LASCELLES, Returning Officer for the Borough
of Napier, hereby give notice that on the 16th day of Decem-
ber, 1915, a poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the
Borough of Napier comprising the Napier South Special-
rating Area was duly held and taken on the proposal of the
Council of the said borough to raise a special loan of £36,500
for the following purposes, the amount applicable to each
purpose being set out opposite the statements of each pur-
pose respectively—
(1.) The construction of drainage-works in and for £
the benefit of the Napier South Special-
rating Area ... ... ... 14,600
(2.) The payment for drainage-works within the
Napier South Special-rating Area, the cost
whereof is payable by any of the owners of
the premises ... ... ... 7,900
(3.) The construction of waterworks and the pur-
chase of water-meters in and for the
benefit of the Napier South Special-rating

And that at such poll the number of votes recorded was as
follows: For the proposal, 92; against the proposal, 2;
majority for the proposal, 90; informal, 3.
Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between DAVID ARCHIBALD, JAMES ALEX-
ANDER ARCHIBALD, JOHN ARCHIBALD, ALEXANDER ERNEST
ARCHIBALD, and FRANK HERBERT ARCHIBALD, carrying on
business at Avondale under the style or firm of "Archibald
Bros.," has been dissolved as from the 30th day of November,
1915, so far as concerns the said James Alexander Archibald,
who retires from the said firm. All debts due to and owing
by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively
by the remaining members of the firm, who will continue to
carry on the said business under the said firm-name.

office is the place where legal process of any kind may be

delivered.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Wairoa County Racing Club at a meeting held
on the second day of November, 1915, with a recommenda-
tion by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. George Britnell, that
the same be passed at once with a view to their approval
by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908,
section 33.
Mr. George Britnell, the Chairman of the Club, at the
meeting moved, and Mr. F. J. Foot seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication
thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
WAIROA COUNTY RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Wairoa
County Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of
the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club"),
doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the
admission of persons to that part of the grounds situate in
the District of Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, and known as the
Awatere Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or
occupied by the said club for race meetings.
- In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing
club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. - The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the racecourse above described while the same is used
or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
with the Racing Conference of New Zealand.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no
lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Wairoa County Racing
Club were made and passed by the club on the second day of
November, 1915, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.
