Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion at the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block VI, Rangiora Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a road in Block VI, Rangiora Survey District :
And whereas an agreement has been entered into, in terms of section twenty-seven of the said Act, to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth :
And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the land, as required by the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the piece of land taken: 4 acres 3 roods 9 perches.
Portion of R.S. 33396 (Canterbury R.D.), Block VI, Rangiora Survey District.
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38985, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Purposes of a Public School, in Block III, Westmere Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that any land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or in so far as he thinks necessary :
And whereas it is found that portion of the land taken for the purposes of a public school by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 121, page 4027, of the twelfth day of the following month, is not required for the purpose for which it was taken: And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not been paid or awarded :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects that piece of land which is described in the Schedule hereto.
