ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifteenth day of February, 1916.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made under the Cemeteries Act, 1908, and dated the sixteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the nineteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, it was ordered and directed that as on and from the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, burials within the Wanganui Cemetery in the Borough of Wanganui shall be wholly discontinued: And whereas it is expedient to vary the said Order in Council to the extent hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in that behalf vested in him by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the said Order in Council, Edward Nolloth Liffiton, and all persons coming within the degrees of relationship to him of wife, parent, child, brother, or sister, may be buried in the said cemetery in that plot of land in the Terrace, Block No. 1, commencing at a point nineteen feet from the south-western corner of the said block.

Rangitikei Patriotic Society incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing addressed to the Minister, has been made by the Rangitikei Patriotic Society (being a society possessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that society: And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the society known as the Rangitikei Patriotic Society is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “Rangitikei Patriotic Society.”

Time for Preparation of Westland County Roll under Section 46 of the Rating Act, 1908, extended.

WHEREAS the County Council of the Westland County having failed, through misadventure, to prepare the valuation roll of mining property in the Westland County in the month of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as required by section forty-six of the Rating Act, 1908, it is expedient to extend the time for preparing the said roll as hereinbefore mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of the said Rating Act, 1908 may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for the preparation of the valuation roll for the Westland County under the Rating Act, 1908, until the twenty-fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and doth also hereby extend the time within which the valuers shall give notice of the rateable value determined by them to each occupier, so that such notices may be given on or before the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and that objections to such valuations may be made on or before the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

License authorizing the Thames Borough Council to use Water from the Thames County Water-race for the Purpose of generating Electricity, and to erect Electric Lines within Portions of the Thames Borough and Thames County.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirty-first day of January, 1916.
Present:

WHEREAS by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time by Order in Council grant to any person or body corporate a license to use water from any fall, river, stream, or other source for the purpose of generating electricity for electric light, mechanical power, or other uses, and to exercise in respect of that purpose any of the powers and authorities specified in that behalf in the said section: And whereas it is further provided by the said section that any such license may confer upon the licensee a right at any time or times during the continuance of the license (but subject to such conditions and restrictions as are expressed in the license) to enter upon any road, railway, or other land, whether vested in or occupied by the Crown, or any other person or body corporate, and there to construct, erect, lay down, maintain, renew, or repair all such cables, wires, and other things as are required for the transmission of electricity between the fall, river, stream, or other source aforesaid and any place to which the licensee is authorized to transmit electricity in pursuance of the license:
And whereas the Thames Borough Council (hereinafter, with its successors and assigns, referred to as “the licensee”) has applied for a license under the said section to take and use water from the Thames County Water-race, in the Provincial District of Auckland (hereinafter referred to as “the said race”), for the purpose of generating electricity as aforesaid, and it is expedient to issue such license accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him as aforesaid, and of the powers conferred by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to the licensee (subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto) a license to take and use from the Thames County Water-race aforesaid, for the purposes hereinafter set forth, a stream of water (hereinafter referred to as “the said water”) not exceeding twenty cubic feet per second at any one time; and also to erect and maintain electric lines for power, lighting, heating, or other uses within the area of supply hereinafter described, and subject to the regulations published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and hereinafter referred to as “the regulations.”
SCHEDULE.
- UTILIZATION OF THE WATER.
The said water shall be used solely for the purpose of generating electricity.
- LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
