RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Clifden Hack Racing Club at a meeting held on the thirtieth day of October, 1915, at Clifden, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. W. Grigor, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. W. Grigor, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. Sanford seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

CLIFDEN HACK RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Clifden Hack Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Clifden Domain situate at Clifden set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Clifden Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the part of the said Clifden Domain Reserve while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated with the Racing Conference of New Zealand.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Clifden Hack Racing Club were made and passed by the members of the club on the 30th day of October, 1915, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, LANCELOT HERBERT LINDSAY MARGOLIOUTH and ROGER WALTER HANSARD, in the business of Sheep-farmers carried on by us at Mangatahi, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, under the style of “Margoliouth & Hansard,” has been dissolved as from the 24th day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen; and that all debts due and owing to and by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said ROGER WALTER HANSARD, who will continue to carry on the said business alone and in his own name only.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 302 of the Companies Act, 1908, that the office of Booth & Company (London), (Limited), a company duly incorporated in the United Kingdom, and carrying on business in the Dominion of New Zealand, has been removed from Number 153 Hereford Street to 202 Hereford Street, in the City of Christchurch, where legal process of any kind may be served upon it and notices of any kind may be addressed or delivered.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500 (one thousand five hundred pounds), authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing and erecting poles, cables, and all necessary appliances for the transmission and supply of electricity for motive power, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fortieth of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton, being the whole of the Borough of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council held on Friday, the fourth day of February, 1916.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700 (seven hundred pounds), authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of taking and acquiring, under the provisions of the Public Works Act or otherwise, all those pieces of land being Allotments 320 and 325 of the Town of Hamilton West, including the compensation or purchase price of the same and of all costs of so taking or acquiring the said land, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eightieth of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton, being the whole of the Borough of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council held on Friday, the fourth day of February, 1916.
