Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section seventy-three of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, do hereby direct that the Waimarino County Council shall pay annually to the Upper Wangaehu Road Board on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of the said respective loans, commencing on the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the following sums—viz., £13 9s. 4d. in respect of Loan No. 1, £8 7s. 10d. in respect of Loan No. 2, £1 15s. 6d. in respect of Loan No. 4, £75 9s. 10d. in respect of Loan No. 5, £15 14s. 10d. in respect of Loan No. 9—as a duly proportionate part of the interest and other charges payable by the Upper Wangaehu Road Board in respect of each of the said loans; and that the said Waimarino County Council shall also pay to the Upper Wangaehu Road Board the sum of £58 0s. 1d. for accrued interest and other charges due in respect of the said loans for the period commencing on the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1915, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned, in the manner prescribed by the said section, on or before the 31st day of May, 1916.

CHRISTCHURCH FIRE BOARD.
BY-LAW No. 4 (1916), RELATING TO NOTICES OF TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT FOR SERVICE OF PAID MEMBERS OF THE CHRISTCHURCH FIRE BRIGADE.
In pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and of all and each and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Christchurch Fire Board makes and ordains this by-law:—
The short title of this by-law shall be “Christchurch Fire Board By-law No. 4 (1916).”
This by-law shall be read with and form part of the Christchurch Fire Board By-law No. 1 (1910) in like manner as if the same had been enacted therein, and shall come into force on the 8th day of February, 1916.
From and after the coming into force of this by-law clause 5 of Part II of the Christchurch Fire Board By-law No. 1 (1910) shall be repealed, and the following clause shall be substituted therefor:—
(5.) Unless with the written consent of the Board, one week’s notice shall be given by a member to the Board of his intention to terminate the agreement of service with the Board, and the service of a member of the brigade shall be liable to be terminated by the Board on one week’s written notice being given to that effect to such member, and on payment to such member of all pay due to him up to the expiration of such notice. If any member leaves without the written consent of the Board, or without giving such notice on his part, he will forfeit all pay due to him, and further will be liable to be formally dismissed by the Board
