Vesting the Control of a certain Reserve in the Nelson Land Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, 1916.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE A. L. HERDMAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, as amended by section six of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, it is enacted that in respect of any lands set apart in the South Island of New Zealand to make provision for landless Natives, or permanently reserved by Proclamation for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives, whether under the South Island Landless Natives Act, 1906, or since the repeal of that Act, the Governor in Council may vest the control of the same by Order in Council in the Land Board (under the Land Act, 1908) of the district within which the same are situated:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart to make provision for landless Natives in the South Island:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor it is expedient to vest the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto in the Nelson Land Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, as amended by the said section six of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto (being land set apart in the South Island of New Zealand to make provision for landless Natives) shall be and the same is hereby vested in the Land Board of the Nelson Land District.
SCHEDULE.
WHAKAPOAI OR HEAPHY BLOCK.
SECTIONS 1 to 7 (inclusive), 9 to 17 (inclusive), 19 to 28 (inclusive), and 31, 32, and 33, Block I; Sections 1 to 4 (inclusive), 8, 10, 11, 12, and 13, Block V, Whakapoai Survey District: Area, 1,600 acres. As the same is delineated upon the plan marked L. and S 22/1099, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Prohibiting the Importation of Kugelman’s Herbal Remedies and other Goods.

WHEREAS it is provided by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, that the Governor may from time to time by Order in Council prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is, in his opinion, necessary for the prevention of fraud or deception: And whereas in the opinion of the Governor the prohibition of the importation of the goods hereinafter referred to is necessary for the prevention of fraud and deception:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon him as aforesaid, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of all goods known as Kugelman’s herbal remedies, and of all other remedies, drugs, medicines, or medical appliances manufactured or supplied or purporting to be manufactured or supplied by one Kugelman, or bearing any name or trade description referring in any manner to the said Kugelman, and of all written or printed advertising matter relating solely or principally to any such goods as aforesaid.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland, Nelson, and Southland Land Districts.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland, Nelson, and Southland Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section 8 of Block V, Village of Patetonga, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the Morrinsville–Waitakaruru Road, 100 links; towards the south-east by Otane Street, 250 links; towards the south-west by Section 13 of Block V aforesaid, 100 links; and towards the north-west by Section 7 (a hall-site) of the aforesaid Block V, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on plan marked L. and S. 6/3/118, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 18165.) For a site for a post-office.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, being Allotment 90, Parish of Ruakaka, containing by admeasurement 26 acres 2 roods 24 perches, more or less. Bounded, commencing at peg marked 1, being 538156·8 links north and 139158·6 links west of Mount Eden Trig. Station; towards the east generally by a reserve along the Ruakaka River, 983·8, 418·7, and 1186 links; towards the south by Crown land, 1341·5 and 604·4 links; towards the west generally by a reserve along the Ruakaka River, 601·6, 255, 467·9, 529, and 924·5 links, to the point of commencement.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, being Allotment 91, Parish of Ruakaka, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or less. Bounded, commencing at peg marked XIV, being 539507 links north and 138179·7 links west of Mount Eden Trig. Station; towards the north-east and south-east by Crown land, 558·4 and 459·3 links respectively; towards the south-west and north-west by a reserve along the Ruakaka River, 558·4 and 459·3 links respectively, to the point of commencement.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on plan marked L. and S. 1/594, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 19095.) For a public recreation-ground.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, and being Section 38, Block XI, Mokihinui Survey District. Bounded towards the northward generally by the road, one chain wide, along the left bank of Stillwater Creek; on the southward generally by the road forming the northern boundary of Section 31 (school reserve); and on the south-westward by the road, two chains wide, along the right bank of the Mokihinui River: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/154, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Sections 35 and 36, Town of Tuatapere Extension No. 2. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 34, Block XIII, Waiau Survey District, 250 links; towards the south-east by Orauea Road, 200 links; towards the south-west by Section 37, Town of Tuatapere Extension No. 2, 250 links; and towards the north-west by Section 38, Town of Tuatapere Extension No. 2, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
