Altitude, 30 ft. to 40 ft. above sea-level. Undulating fern land. Soil of fair quality of a sandy nature, on pumice formation; no surface water, but water can probably be obtained by sinking about 20 ft. Distant about five miles and a half from Kutarere—five miles by dray-road, remainder bridle-track. The Nukuhou Cheese-factory is two miles and a half distant.
Sections 324, 326, 327, 329, and 330: Area, 21 acres 1 rood 39 perches; upset price, £40.
Altitude, 20 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, covered with fern and manuka. Soil of poor quality, on pipeclay subsoil; poorly watered by small swampy springs. Distant about two miles from Ohiwa, of which a mile and a half is by beach at low water, remainder rough horse-track.
Otamatea County.—Kaiwaka Parish.
Section 116: Area, 8 acres 3 roods 37 perches; upset price, £10.
Weighted with £47, valuation for improvements comprising house, grassing, fencing, and draining.
Altitude, 30 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Level to undulating land; 7 acres ploughed and grassed, balance manuka scrub and gorse. Soil loamy clay on flat, and poor clay on 3 acres, on slate formation; watered by swampy spring which dries in summer. Distant four miles from Mangawai by cart-road.
Whangarei County.—Maungatapere Parish.
Section E. 89: Area, 16 acres 1 rood 13 perches; upset price, £40.
Altitude, 20 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. About 3 acres rush swamp, drainable; balance manuka country, of which 1½ acres is flat, 1 acre broken, remainder undulating. Soil pipeclay, on clay subsoil; well watered by stream at north-western end. Distant five miles and a half from Whangarei by metalled cart-road.

Section 10, Block X: Area, 5 acres 2 roods 22 perches; upset price, £25.

Altitude, 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with small manuka and fern. Light brown soil, good to fair in quality; poorly watered, but water can probably be obtained by sinking. Distant five miles from Patumahoe by good cart-road.
Section 18, Block IX: Area, 14 acres 1 rood 6 perches; upset price, £45.
Altitude, 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, slightly stony, covered with small manuka and fern. Light brown soil, fair to medium in quality, on sandstone formation; fairly watered by small stream. Distant five miles from Patumahoe by good cart-road.
Waitomo County.—Mangaorongo Survey District.
Section 8, Block II: Area, 27 acres; upset price, £115.
Altitude, 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Fern and manuka country, all ploughable. Soil of good quality, on sandstone formation; poorly watered by small swamp. Distant about five miles and a half from Otorohanga by formed dray-road, four miles of which is metalled.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Southland Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land so granted:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres, more or less, being Section 86, Block V, Oteramika Hundred. Bounded towards the north by Section 57, 2000 links; towards the east by a road, 700 links; and towards the south and west by Section 54, 2000 links and 700 links; all in Block V, Oteramika Hundred: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1121, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 0 roods 2 perches, more or less, being part of Section 61, Block V, Oteramika Hundred. Bounded towards the north and east by roads 1000 links and 701·3 links; and towards the south and west by the other part of Section 61 aforesaid, 1000 links and 701·3 links: be the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1121, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

to be a Trustee, in the place of William Johnston Burnett, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Ngaruawahia (No. 1) Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Edmund Fitzpatrick, Alexander Nicol, Robert Fleming, and Thomas Paterson, previously appointed.
