WASHINGTON.
STRAIT OF JUAN DE FUCA.—SLIP POINT LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC TO BE CHANGED.—FOG-SIGNAL TO BE CHANGED.—About 1st October, 1916, the characteristic of Slip Point light will be changed from fixed to flashing white, of 80,000 candle-power, every 5 seconds—thus, flash 0·2 second, eclipsed 4·8 seconds.
The light will be exhibited, 72 ft. above high water, from a cylindrical lantern on a square tower with fog-signal building attached.
The fog-signal will be changed from a third-class reed horn to an air diaphone, which will sound 1 blast of 3 seconds duration every 30 seconds.
Approx. position : Lat. 48° 15′ 48″ N., long. 124° 15′ W.
PUGET SOUND.—PULLY POINT LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC CHANGED.—On 19th September, 1916, the characteristic of Pully Point light was changed from fixed white to occulting white every 6 seconds—thus, light 3 seconds, eclipsed 3 seconds—of 50 candle-power.

SEATTLE HARBOUR.—DUWAMISH HEAD.—BELL-BUOY REPLACED BY GAS AND BELL BUOY.—On 15th September, 1916, Duwamish Head bell-buoy 2, Seattle Harbour, was replaced by a gas and bell buoy painted red and numbered 2.
The gas and bell buoy is cylindrical, with skeleton superstructure, and shows, 12 ft. above the water, a flashing white light, of 70 candle-power, every 3 seconds—thus, flash 0·3 second, eclipsed 2·7 seconds.
BRITISH COLUMBIA.
VANCOUVER ISLAND.—VICTORIA HARBOUR.—LAUREL POINT LIGHT MOVED.—NEW STRUCTURE.—Laurel Point light has been moved and re-established on a new structure erected on the drying rock on the north-western extremity of Laurel Point, in (approximately) latitude 48° 25′ 27″ N., longitude 123° 22′ 38″ W.
The light is a fixed red electric light exhibited, 18 ft. above high water, from a beacon consisting of a square concrete base surmounted by a staff supporting a red wooden slatwork cone. The light is visible 1 mile from all points of approach by water.
CALIFORNIA.
POINT CONCEPTION LIGHT-STATION.—FOG-SIGNAL CHANGED.—On 3rd October, 1916, the fog-signal at Point Conception Light-station was changed from a steam whistle to a compressed-air diaphone, which sounds 1 group of 2 blasts every 60 seconds—thus, blast 3 seconds, silent 4 seconds; blast 3 seconds, silent 50 seconds.

WEST COAST.—DAVID BAY.—LINARTES ISLANDS RANGE-LIGHTS.—INFORMATION.—The Linartes Islands range-lights are both flashing white every 5 seconds, visible 8 miles.
