Extending Time for holding Annual Meeting of the Selwyn County Council.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section seventy-five of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the annual meeting of the various County Councils throughout the Dominion shall be held at noon on the fourth Wednesday in November:

And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such annual meeting of the Selwyn County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority vested in him by section two hundred and seventeen of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the annual meeting of the Selwyn County Council, and doth hereby order and declare that such annual meeting shall be held and take place on Thursday, the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at the office of the said Selwyn County Council.

Grey Patriotic Association incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing addressed to the Minister, has been made by the Grey Patriotic Association (being a society possessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that association:

And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the society known as the Grey Patriotic Association is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “Grey Patriotic Association.”

Hautapu Drainage District extended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Waikato, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in the said area be included in the Hautapu Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the boundaries of the said Hautapu Drainage District by including in such district the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA INCLUDED IN THE HAUTAPU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 592 acres, more or less, and being bounded towards the north-west by a public road forming the north-west boundary of Section No. 65, Parish of Tamahere, and the continuation of same to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 67 of the said parish; towards the north-east and south-east respectively by the last-mentioned road and by its continuation to the road which forms the south-western boundary of Section No. 65 aforesaid; and towards the south-west by the last-mentioned road.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

HAUTAPU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by the railway-line from the junction of roads in Section No. 45, Tamahere Parish, to the north-western boundary of Section No. 48; thence by the road forming part of the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section and forming the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 47 and 84, the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, and by the Fencourt Land Drainage District to the western boundary of Piako County; thence by Piako County to the easternmost corner of Section No. 286, Hautapu Parish; thence towards the east by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 286, 285, 284, and 278; thence towards the south generally by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 239, 238, 237, 236, 235, 234, 233, 232, 231, and 230, Hautapu Parish, and by the Borough of Cambridge to the railway-line; thence towards the south-west by the railway-line to Hautapu Railway-station; thence by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 27, 28, 29, and 30, Hautapu Parish, the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 69 and 70; thence by the last-mentioned section, Section No. 71, the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 65, 64, and 63, Hautapu Parish, and the road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 78, Tamahere Parish; thence by the last-mentioned section to the Mangaone Stream; thence by that stream to the eastern boundary of the southern part of Section No. 76, Tamahere Parish; thence by the said southern part of Section No. 76 to the road intersecting that section; thence by that road and the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 73, 74, 75, intersecting Sections Nos. 71 and 70, and forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 65; and thence towards the north-west by the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 63, 62, 44, and intersecting Section No. 45, Tamahere Parish, to the railway-line, the place of commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that no person shall lay, construct, place, put up, or use any electric line except under the authority of a license issued by the Governor in Council under that Act:

And whereas the Riccarton Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) desires to erect lines within the area of supply as defined in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter called “the area of supply,” and it is expedient accordingly to issue a license in respect thereof under the said section:
