North Otago Soldiers’ Aid Association incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing addressed to the Minister, has been made by the North Otago Soldiers’ Aid Association (being a society possessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that association:

And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the association known as the North Otago Soldiers’ Aid Association is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “North Otago Soldiers’ Aid Association.”

Nelson Sick and Wounded Soldiers and their Dependants Fund Society incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

Importation of Soap from France not prohibited.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, as extended by section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is in his opinion necessary in the public interest:

And whereas by Order in Council made and gazetted on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the importation of soap manufactured in or exported from any place other than the United Kingdom or a British possession was prohibited save with the consent of the Minister of Customs:

And whereas it is deemed advisable to amend the said Order in Council of the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the aforesaid Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the aforesaid Order in Council of the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, by adding thereto after the words “British possession” the words “or France.”

Prohibiting the Deposit of Broken Glass and Crockery on the Foreshore between Mellon’s Bay and Paparoa Point, Howick.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS there is no Harbour Board at Howick, near Auckland, and it is desirable that a by-law should be made to prohibit the deposit on the foreshore at that place of broken glass and crockery:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon him by sections twelve and two hundred and seven of the Harbours Act, 1908, doth hereby make the following by-law, and doth order that it shall have effect on the foreshore between Mellon’s Bay and Paparoa Point, Howick, as shown in red on plan marked M.D. 4700, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.


BY-LAW.

  1. No person shall deposit or place on the foreshore between Mellon’s Bay and Paparoa Point, Howick, any broken glass or crockery.

  2. Any person committing a breach of the above by-law is liable to a fine not exceeding ten pounds (£10).

Revoking Order in Council licensing Charles Bertram Lester to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore of Hokianga River as a Site for a Boat-shed and Slip.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of November, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 73, of the twenty-fourth day of the same month, Charles Bertram Lester was licensed to use and occupy a portion of the foreshore and land below low-water mark on Hokianga River as a site for a boat-shed and slip, as shown in plan marked M.D. 3244, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington:

And whereas the licensee has made application to have the said license revoked, and it is desirable to revoke the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred.
