Authorizing the Exchange of a Secondary-education Endowment
in the Hawke's Bay Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of
November, 1916.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule
hereto is vested in the Crown, in trust, as an endowment for secondary education: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the
said land for the land described in the Second Schedule
hereto, which is deemed by the Governor to be of equal
value and more suitable for the purposes of an endowment
for secondary education:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section twelve of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the land
described in the First Schedule hereto may be exchanged
for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF RESERVE AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being
Section 1, Town of Mahia. Bounded towards the north-east
by Argyle Street, towards the north-west by Newcastle
Street, towards the east by a public road, and towards the
south-east by Section 2.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section
84, Town of Mahia. Bounded towards the north-east by
Section 85, towards the south-east by Fortescue Street;
towards the south-west by Section 83, and towards the
north-west by Section 159.

Declaring Portion of Tangitu Road, in the Clifton County, to
be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of
November, 1916.

His Excellency The Governor in Council.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers
in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the
portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on
and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county
road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Tangitu Road, in the Taranaki Land
District, Clifton County, commencing at a sharp bend on the
western boundary of Section 2, Block XI, Upper Waitara
Survey District, about 2 miles 55 chains from the Waitara
River Crossing, and proceeding thence generally in a northeasterly direction, adjoining or passing through portion of
the said Section 2 and Section 1, Block XI, Upper Waitara
Survey District, and terminating at its junction with Puke
Road; being a distance of 1 mile 37 chains, more or less.
As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked P.W.D. 41231, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington
Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring a Native to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of
November, 1916.

His Excellency The Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council, on the recommendation
of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a
European:
And whereas Rooro (Rooro Pitihira) Rangiheuea, of
Foxton, being a Native within the meaning of the Native
Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the Court that he might be declared a
European: And whereas the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application, has recommended that an
Order in Council be issued declaring the said Rooro (Rooro
Pitihira) Rangiheuea to be a European: And whereas it is
expedient that such declaration should be made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Rooro
(Rooro Pitihira) Rangiheuea, of Foxton, to be a European.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Eltham Domain
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of
November, 1916.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the eleventh
day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the Gazette of the fourteenth day
of December, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, page
3694, the Eltham Borough Council was appointed to be
the Taumata Domain Board, having control of the Taumata
Domain:
And whereas by Order in Council made on the fifth day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published
in the Gazette of the seventh day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and nine, page 2536, the Eltham Borough
Council was appointed to be the Poti Domain Board, having
control of the Poti Domain:
And whereas by section thirty-five of the Reserves and other
Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1916,
the public domains known as the Taumata and Poti Domains
described in the Schedule hereto were amalgamated as one
domain, to be known thenceforth as "Eltham Domain":
And whereas it is expedient to appoint a Domain Board
to have control of the said Eltham Domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred
by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke
the said Orders in Council dated the fifth day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and nine, and the eleventh day of
December, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, appointing Domain Boards to have control of the Poti and Taumata
Domains respectively; and doth hereby appoint the Eltham
Borough Council to be the Eltham Domain Board, having
control of the Eltham Domain described in the Schedule
hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of
Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Friday, the
twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred
and sixteen, at half past seven o'clock p.m., as the time when,
and the Eltham Borough Council Chambers, Eltham, as the
place where, the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
ELTHAM DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by
admeasurement 11 acres, more or less, being Subdivision 1
of Section 12, Block X, Ngaire Survey District. Bounded
