Mr. W. A. L. Bailey, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. W. G. Haybittle seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Feilding Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the course situate in the District of Manawatu, and known as the Feilding Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to them by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated with the Racing Conference of New Zealand.

(c.) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Feilding Jockey Club were made and passed by a general meeting of the said club on the nineteenth day of November, 1915, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary, and the common seal of the Feilding Jockey Club was hereto affixed, in pursuance of a resolution duly passed at the said meeting.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the acquisition and proclamation of land as a public road. And for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Clerk of the said Council situated in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the parcels of land required to be taken:—

30·7 perches, being portion of Te Kuiti No. 2B No. 12B; coloured blue on plan.

1 acre 1 rood 29·3 perches, being portion of Te Kuiti No. 2B No. 13B; coloured red on plan.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

THE following extraordinary resolution was passed at a meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company held in their registered office, Manakau Road, on Friday, January 28th, 1916:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue to carry on its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same; and that D. R. REVELL, of Auckland, be appointed the Liquidator of the company.”

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Ashburton County Racing Club at a meeting held on the seventeenth day of December, 1915, at Ashburton, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Thomas E. Upton, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Ashburton County Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to the Ashburton Racecourse Reserve, No. 1318, situate at Ashburton, set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Ashburton Racecourse, as the same is described in the Ashburton Racecourse Reserve Act, 1882, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
