Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Invercargill, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL.
Result of Polls upon Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that on the 19th day of January, 1916,—
- A poll of the ratepayers of the whole of the Borough of Invercargill was taken on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise a special loan of £8,000 for and in connection with the Invercargill and suburban tramway system owned by the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 458. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 359.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
- A poll of the ratepayers of the whole of the Borough of Invercargill was taken on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise a special loan of £17,000 for and in connection with the electric light and power works of the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 486. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 334.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
- A poll of the ratepayers of that part or area of the Borough of Invercargill bounded on the south by the south boundary of the Township of Harrisville, thence northward on the west and north by the west and north boundaries of the borough to Elles Road, on the east by Elles Road to Victoria Park, again on the south by the north boundary of Victoria Park, and again on the east by Kelvin Road, was taken on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise a special loan of £12,500 for sewage-works within such area, and for connecting the same with the sewage system of the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 62. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 42.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
- A poll of the ratepayers of that part or area of the Borough of Invercargill east of Elles Road and north of the main East Road was taken on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise a special loan of £25,000 for sewage-works within such area, and for connecting the same with the sewage system of the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 151. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 119.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
- A poll of the ratepayers of that part or area of the Borough of Invercargill bounded on the north by the main East Road, thence southward on the west by Elles Road to Dalrymple Road, thence on the north by Dalrymple Road, thence again on the west by the west boundary of the borough south of Dalrymple Road, on the south by the south boundary of the borough, and on the east by the east boundary of the borough to the main East Road, on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise a special loan of £13,000 for sewage-works within such area, and for connecting the same with the sewage system of the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 106. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 61.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.
Notice of Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Richmond was taken on the 16th day of December, 1915, on the proposal of the Richmond Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of enlarging the waterworks reservoir.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 77. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to borrow the Sum of £35,925.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of the poll held on the 19th day of January, 1916, on the proposal to raise a loan of £35,925 for harbour-works, reclamation, &c., viz.: For the proposal, 156; against the proposal, 7.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Loan.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Acts amending same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 17th day of January, 1916; a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Derby Street Bridge Special District, for raising a loan of £2,500 for the construction of a bridge at Derby Street across the Taruheru River to connect with Stafford Street, Whataupoko, in the Borough of Gisborne; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 112; against, 58.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
