Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Stopping Government Roads in Blocks XII, Rolleston, and IX. Christchurch Survey Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government roads described in the Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purpose of roads:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the roads described in the Schedule hereto.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block VIII, Hororata Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for road, tramway, and other purposes of the Provincial Government, being a reserve within Class I of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a site for a public school, being a reserve within Class III of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall from and after the third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, be appropriated for a site for a public school under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 2279, originally part of Reserve No. 1288, situated in Block VIII, Hororata Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the north by a public road, 43·2 links and 1368 links; on the south-east by a public road, 1137 links; on the south-west by the Wakaepa River, 617·3 links and 623 links; and on the west by Crown land, 228·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/76, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land in the Conical Hills Settlement, Otago Land District, temporarily reserved as a Site for a Public School.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as a site for a public school.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Section 67A (formerly part of Section 16A), Conical Hills Settlement, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the junction of the Conical Hills Road and Shennan Road; thence towards the north-west by said Shennan Road, 800 links; thence towards the south and south-east by Section 16A, Conical Hills Settlement, 93° 49′, 478·6 links, and 14° 15′, 478·6 links, respectively, to the Conical Hills Road; thence towards the north-east by said road, 523 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 19423, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
