NOTICE is hereby given that, in accordance with section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, a general meeting of the above company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, Wyndham Chambers, Wyndham Street, Auckland, on Saturday, the 21st day of October, 1916, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of laying before such meeting an account showing the manner in which the winding-up of the company has been conducted and its assets disposed of.

OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 10TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1916, AT 11 A.M.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Omaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and other charges on the loan of £666, authorized to be raised by the said Board, under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of paying the balance due by the Board on : levy made by the Wairau Hospital and Charitable Aid Board on the 13th day of October, 1915, for the purpose of the erection of the Nurses’ Home and the completion of the erection of the new hospital at Blenheim, the said Omaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one seventy-fifth (1/75th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Omaka Road District ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Omaka Road Board at the meeting above mentioned.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908 ; and in the matter of the RIMU MINERS’ WATER-RACE COMPANY (LIMITED), in Liquidation.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 230 of the Companies Act, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held on the 16th day of October, 1916, at 8 o’clock p.m., at the company’s office at Rimu, in order that there may be laid before the said company an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of, and in order that the said company may hear any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also in order that an extraordinary resolution may be passed for determining the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the said company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS by section 3 of the Hutt Road Act, 1915, it is provided that towards the cost of forming and constructing the Hutt Road there shall be payable by each of the local authorities mentioned in the First Schedule thereto the sum set opposite the name of the local authority in the said Schedule :

And whereas the Upper Hutt Town Board is one of the local authorities as mentioned : And whereas the same Act authorizes the issue by each of the local authorities of debentures for the amount payable by it as aforesaid : And whereas it is further provided that for the purpose of paying the interest and sinking fund in respect of debentures so issued the local authority shall make and levy a special rate on all rateable property within its district :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Upper Town Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seven hundred and fifty pounds (£750), authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Town Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing its share of the cost of the construction of the Hutt Road as set out in the First Schedule to the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the said Upper Hutt Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the district, comprising the whole of the Town District of Upper Hutt ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the last days of September and March in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Passed at Upper Hutt at a duly constituted meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board held in the offices, Upper Hutt, on the 28th day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed at a meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board held at Upper Hutt on the 28th September, 1916.
