Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Te Awamutu Borough Council.—Notice No. 1846.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Te Awamutu Borough Council has, by special order, declared the following plants to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction: Gorse, broom.

THE Court Hope of Green Island, situated at Green Island, is registered as a juvenile branch of the Court Pride of Green Island, No. 8613, of the United Otago District of the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society, under the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, this 13th day of September, 1916.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the South Canterbury Boxing Association is no longer carrying on its operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved, in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Applications invited for the Position of Electrician, State Coal-mines Branch, Mines Department, Greymouth.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 3rd October, 1916, for the position of Electrician, State Coal-mines Branch, Mines Department, Greymouth.

  1. Applications (to be made on P.S.C. Form 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices) must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  2. Applicants must have thorough knowledge of installing D.C. power and lighting plants, telephones, and electrical bells, also be capable of maintaining and repairing small lamp accumulators.

  3. Applicants with colliery experience preferred.

The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary £210, maximum £220, per annum.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 31st October, 1916, for the position of Vine and Wine Instructor, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Wellington.

  1. Applications (to be made on P.S.C. Form 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices) must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  2. The qualifications required are as follows:—
    (a.) A good knowledge of the culture of vines both in the vineyard and the glasshouse;
    (b.) A thorough knowledge of the diseases and pests of the vine, and their method of treatment;
    (c.) A good experience in the manufacture and blending of wines, and regarding all appliances connected therewith; and
    (d.) A thorough knowledge of cider and cider-vinegar making.

The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary £260, maximum £300, per annum.
