Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for historic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a reserve for historic purposes under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.
UPPER HUTT BLOCKHOUSE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being part of Section No. 94, Block I, Rimutaka Survey District. Commencing at a point at the southern end and on the north-western side of Fortune Lane, the said point being distant 1200 links measured along the western side of the said lane from its intersection with the Hutt Main Road, and being bounded thence towards the north-east by a line parallel to the north-east boundary-line of other part of Section No. 94, Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, a distance of 316 links and five-tenths of a link; thence towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary-line, running in a south-westerly direction a distance of 316 links and five-tenths of a link; thence towards the south-west by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary-line, running in a north-westerly direction a distance of 316 links and five-tenths of a link; and thence towards the north-west by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary-line, running in a north-easterly direction a distance of 316 links and five-tenths of a link to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 744, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Additional Land between Morrinsville and Piako taken for the Purposes of the Waikato-Thames Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Waikato-Thames Railway to take further land between Morrinsville and Piako, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land: 11 perches, portion of Maungatapu C; 1 rood 24 perches, portion of Maungatapu B No. 4c; 11 perches, portion of Lot 24 (D.P. 2465) of Motumaoho No. 2 (S.O. 18971).
Situated in Block VI, Maungakawa Survey District, Piako County.
In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 23916, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured yellow; blue, and brown.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twelfth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier Railway to take further land at Carterton, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 7·6 perches.
Portion of Subdivision 2, Section 206 (S.O. 1377).
Situated in Block X, Tiffin Survey District, Borough of Carterton.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 23996, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.
