Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Awakino, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangaotaki Special-rating District, in the Awakino County, taken on the 29th day of August, 1916, on the proposal of the Awakino County Council to borrow the sum of £5,440 for the purpose of completing the forming of and for metalling portions of the Mangaotaki Road, the Upper Mangaotaki Road, the Mahoenui–Kawhia Road, and for other works more fully described, and on the terms stated in the public notice published in the Te Kuiti Chronicle newspaper on the 19th and 26th July, 1916, and the 2nd and 9th August, 1916, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 10, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 12th September, 1916.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Wairoa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIROA ROAD BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Wairoa Road Board was taken on the 10th day of April, 1916, on the proposal of the Wairoa Road Board to borrow the sum of £440 for the construction of a bridge over the Kohi Stream, together with engineering expenses and contingencies.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 18, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated this 10th day of April, 1916.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a lease of Rangiuru No. 2A No. 10 Block, containing 51 acres, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

As witness my hand this 9th day of September, 1916.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VI, Takahue Survey District, for Road Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VI, Takahue Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaitaia, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken :—
